Sorry for being OPINIONATED and having an OPINION, mate, I'll remember to keep my OPINION to myself next time so I don't make you mad for having an OPINION on a subject that I should be allowed to express my OPINION on.

OPINION!!!!!!!
I wouldn't mind you having an opinion if you weren't such a pathetic sniveling ponce about it.

A horrible footballer like Crowley paired with a midfielder who has the worst kicking efficiency ever!

No wonder Freo continue to be rubbish.

I will take a home Prelim as rubbish, imagine if we were shit hot

Didn't you know that Fyfe can't kick? And Crowley can't play? Hell, Sandi doesn't hit it to advantage and Ballas has the most punchable head.

p.s. I don't actually think any of these things. I'm just mimicking BFthink.

Have the North fans realised this isn't a thread about Boomer yet?

Crowley is simply excellent at fulfilling his role within the Fremantle structure. That can't be denied, and Freo are hosting a Prelim Final, so obviously their structure and his role are successful.

People have really twisted views, he wasn't good at all, he had numerous bad kicks, couldn't do anything with the ball. He's a bit player, he's so far from a "star" it's not funny

Careful with the words you use, he did his job, nothing more, nothing less. He will never win games of football, he did his job against Selwood last time they met and they got thrashed, it's so much more to do with the way the team plays than it will ever be about Crowley stopping one person.

Defence is as important a part of the game as offence is. Defenders make careers out of excelling at spoiling or negating while being average or even horrible at attacking or constructive play.
As I said, he is an elite role player. He does one thing very, very well.

Harvey is elite with the ball as a receiver and distributor. He is an excellent crumber. He's a hit up target. He is a link man and is among the comp's best in goal assists.

I can't believe Ive got sucked in to this argument.

Don't get why KPP defenders are lauded but taggers are loathed. If we had 22 players all running forward for handballs out of packs to kick goals it'd be a bloody dull game.

Love Crowley. One of my favourite players to watch.

His offensive game is fine when it needs to be, not the worst clearance player either. Bobs up for a goal every now and then, and has kicked bags of 3 before. Best tagger in the game by a mile, has won a B&F, and just gave his team a shot at a home prelim with a superb performance, I'd say he is a star.

Great teams come about when 22 blokes can take the field and consistently do their jobs to a very high standard. Only a handful of players in the competition could claim to have done theirs to as consistently high a standard as Crowley in 2013. If any! He may never be recognised for what he does on Brownlow night, but it doesn't make it any less important.

Gun.

Absolutely, he is valuable but only because he has others who can use the ball around him.

True guns can do lots of things. Lake can take marks and defend. Mayne can tackle and kick goals. True gun taggers like Ling and Rawlings could shut someone down and get the ball themselves.

Crowley is an elite tagger, but a very, very limited footballer.
No, he is not. He can rack up the pill when he needs to. I've seen plenty of solid offensive games from him.

A team can tolerate a full back not getting a kick.

But teams coudnt carry more than one Crowley as a midfielder. He's the best at his role, but the team gets nothing from him offensively.
Wouldn't say "nothing" - Crowley's kicked 8 goals this year. Stevie J has 17.

Stevie J also had a mere 8 possessions after Crowley moved onto him in the 2nd.

I like Crowley.

He averages less than 15 as a midfielder. Our Full back and CHB get more than that.

When he does get it it's laughable what happens with it, assuming he doesnt look to go backwards or a quick sideways handball.

Harvey's qualities are mainly offensive, and his value to north are clear, as are Crawleys to Freo.

Cmon, just admit you are still bitter about the Boomer pinching, it'll make this easier for everyone.
I take offense at the lack of knowledge being shown on this thread; being very good at one aspect of the game, especially one that doesnt involve getting the ball and doing something with it, doesnt make him a 'champ' or a 'gun' as has been claimed in this thread.

Yeah, but there's a hell of a difference between having an opinion and having an educated opinion.
in other words, you carry on having your opinions, and we'll carry on having opinions regarding your silly opinions.

Deal?

They are as valuable to each side, yes. But all that shows is how good Freo's midfield as and how we are crying out for 2 more outside mids.

Just dont compare them as footballers.
