How true this is I am not sure. A mate of mine has gone over to melbourne for the dockers game against the pies. Rumour over there is that Ryan Murphy is wanted by Essendon for next season. Im just wondering if anyone else has heard anything about this?

Doesn't really make any sense. Not saying Tater isn't a talent, but the Dons already have Lloyd, Lucas, Johns, Ryder and Hille who can play the tall forwards role. I can't see why they'd make a go at another one unless Sheeds thinks he can turn him into a backman.

Thats what I thought, dont know why they would want him with those guys.

I'm sure every side in Melbourne would look at him if he was up for trade. It's a no brainer really.

Essendon had a real go at him last time he was out of contract, and he re-signed with Freo.
If he's not getting a go from the coach, he might walk.
But Essendon look to finish in the middle of the pack, so they'd have to do a trade.
And who would they let go to get him?
Kepler Bradley? Freo wouldn't want him.
Adam McPhee was rumoured to want to go back to Perth last time round, but then you'd think Essendon would want something on top of Murphy, as they set up their run out of defence through McPhee.

He is contracted until the end of 08, so I don't see it as being an easy process for anyone to just walk in and take him.

Most likely will be one of those situations where it's talked about now, but by the time anything actually happens, nothing eventuates.

Actually, it does make sense. Lloyd and Lucas aren't getting any younger. Murphy would be handy in future. It's called thinking ahead, rather than topping up.

Well I live in Melbourne and I can tell you there is no such rumour.

Wow, insight. Lloyd and Lucas are getting older...thank god you cleared that up.

Why would a guy who is not getting a game behind Adam Campbell go to Essendon to not get a game behind Lloyd?

Nice dig though.

Andrew Lovett name may come up. He has already played in the WAFL as well as having Harvey and Shaw there and could be a player that takes the role of Farmer if he is no longer there as well as pushing up into the midfiled

Whats your opinion on Ryan Murphy?

Got all the tools to be a real talent. Good on the lead, great hands and a deadly accurate kick on goal. Just seems to struggle to get into the play sometimes - needs to learn to impose himself on the game more. Has to demand the ball more and add some aggression to his play. Hopefully this will come as he bulks up and gets more experienced.

That's my take on him anyway. Bobbed up under the radar last season and played some fine games but lost form and confidence at the start of this year. Starting to get some big hauls in the WAFL lately so hopefully we'll see him back soon. Hope Freo hangs on to him because he'll develop into a fine player IMO.

I would take Ray for Murphy. Both are quality young players who are still finding their feet at AFL level. It seems a perfect trade to me. Bulldogs need a tall, we need a small. Each one is still at the beginning of their careers so no worries about age and they would pretty much be plug and play at their new sides.

But they have Doogs.

If we had Ray can you imagine how B1 and B2 would get stuck into him because he would always be receiving and not getting the ball out from in and under. S O F T.

I'd do that trade too. We need more skill and more pace in the midfield.

.He is perfect for playing at subi but you're right, B1 and B2 would definately get stuck into him.

Nice to think about but things will change by the end of the season.
