You forgot to add Ripping rich loser, it’s a bit of a conflicting view.
From his point he’s been very successful for someone who’s come from coaching in country Victoria.
As supporters we see him as a loser because of zero flags in his 13 years.
At the end of the day what we think doesn’t mean much, it’s not like we can get a refund.

He wasn’t successful considering Port’s ACTUAL standards.

2013 is looked back on more favourably as we were picking ourselves up off the canvas that year, but 2014 annoys me looking back on it now. We were flying that year, games clear on top of the ladder and ended up 5th going into finals and made it hard for ourselves but we rallied and put ourselves in a great position to win that prelim against the Hawks but we ultimately bottled it. Along with 2020 it was probably our best chance for a flag and we blew it, so i don't really hold that season in high regard.

obviously 2021 is in a league of it's own for finals failure. But 2014 was just as disappointing as 2020, 2023, & 2024

I enjoyed both the 2013 & 2014 years (2014 was my favourite over the Hinkley regime) but agree with what you say re 2014. After mid 2015 I just stopped believing that Hinkley had what was required & just became frustrated.

Hinkley's tenure, no matter what you say, boils down to having an enabler on the board in David Koch who wanted this terrible coach for another seven years to get him up to twenty years.

That's why he was able to continually able to do a lot of non-Creed, non-Port Adelaide things because Koch enabled him and Hinkley understood there was no accountability for his actions and poor record.

You would see Hinkley happy after a loss talking with opposition players and coaches and eventually that type of behaviour becomes something more bizarre and more loathsome like the lolly teeth incident.

I will enjoy him talking rubbish in the media. It will be interesting to see if a fellow commentator asks Hinkley for his opinion on how to change the game as it is unfolding and I am sure what will come out of his mouth will be generic and comical.
