Why I didn't want him as captain. Not that he didn't deserve it, but the extra expectations placed on him after a knee op worried me... knowing the character he is, he would push himself to the limit to lead.

Nope. Spoke to Sam before season start & at end of season - both ends of the season he said he would’ve played by finals time if we were in contention. No way he didn’t leave any stone unturned in his rehab. Just a terrible occurrence.
