Thinking the same thing after today, Frost slightly in a different category.

Instant depth.

heck, loving having this bloke around. I was seriously worried about our lack of mids when it occurred to me that Dwyer was the sub last week and getting a full game today. He didn't just look like he belonged, he looked like he was one of our leadership group or something!

he reminds me of foley at Richmond.
maybe its a little to do with wearing the same number:).
love his pace and skills go ok.
well and truly up to it.

Great inside and crumbing skills. Strong core and kicks it well.

The one bad thing is that he takes too long to decide what to do, could have been caught holding the ball a few times and disposal was ineffective due to a tackle.

I disagree-I think he is similar to Pendles in the way he calmly sums up the situation. Some of his quick hands in tight were exquisite and most of his ball use was outstanding.

Really admired his work today :thumbsu: You've got a good one!
Any chance they'll be a spot for him once your stars return?

Don't forget this was a big match and faster than the VFL.
Yeah which means he's still got improvement left in him as he adjusts to the faster pace of the game.

I dno, I saw a lot of times where I'd probably be calling ball if the teams were switched. I'll have to have a good look when I watch the replay.

Was the player I felt should have been upgraded first and immediately because he plays the role that we have been lacking with our injuries as that smooth half forward cum midfielder.

His overall game is outstanding. Inside he is cool and outside he hurts. Ball use is super as is his awareness. Amazing he has been left in the VFL for so long. He is best 22 stuff.

Didn't think he looked that great during the NAB Cup, but great to see he stepped up massively when it mattered.

Love how Bucks' has smartly recruited these mature age guys when Malthouse refused to despite all the evidence showing what a smart move it is.

He was very impressive. Like others i thought he just struggled a bit in the NAB for the pace of the game but he now appears to have picked it up nicely. Very nicely!

The bloke just keeps smashing in there and can seriously run. Absolutely love it!

Excellent find.

I think what we have done with the list year has been amazing. Next week we see Hudson. Re Malthouse I know he was fuming the pies didn't have Barlow on the pies radar when he was picked up. I think our recruitment team (which must be in top 4 of AFL) as a whole gave more focus to mature VFL players since then and now in doing so we perhaps have had our best drafting year ever.

More Sam Dwyer in the midfield please. His work in conjestion was Pendles like at times. Just stepped through & around packs like they weren't there. Used the ball well has some lively pace and was probably the cleanest handler of the ball for us. He showed a lot of desire and heart in the lead up games which was great, but today he showed he has the skills to match.

He has suddenly has found a way into my best 22, I have no idea who he replaces but if he keeps playing like that he must be in our best 22!

So for those that remember, left hand bounce, reminds me of Graeme Wright, moves a bit like him as well.. huge man crash after 1 good game, shows that maybe draft age is a bit young, at 26 didn’t surprise me that he could handle the bumps and grind on the big stage, next man crash will be K Martin, keeps ripping it up in the 2's and along with Frosty...on the surface we are looking good... and we haven’t even seen our 1st 4 draft picks yet !!!!!

Just finished watching the replay (again)...

There were two instances in the 3rd that really stood out:
i) A centre stoppage when he came from the opposite side of the contest to dive in and steal the ball away from (Gibbs?) and feed a handball out
ii) Heavy congestion in our F50 and gets ball out to Goldsack for a goal

Great game.

He gets better with every AFL game he plays. He now has the pace of the game and his decision making has sharpened up.

He is a very reliable and clever user of the ball and he is playing as if this is his last chance to make it (which it is)

I thought he was just a temp until the big names return, but he is quickly cementing his spot.

What is impressive is that he is running out games strong.

He's getting better each time I see him. Saw him for the first time in the flesh yesterday. He moves really well and is composed. Upgrade asap!
