Samboy Chips

Why aren't they more popular? Far superior to Smiths chips (though smiths original are nice) yet they seem to be disappearing from store shelves. Is this just a WA thing? Are they bigger over East?

They should bring back the extra sachet of flavouring and avoid using Red Symons in any future advertising campaign. Anyway I hope to one day see a return to the glory days of Samboy chips.

Smiths Chiips are the best. I love their salt and vinegar.

I remember the Samboy ones with the flavouring, but I never tried it as I was always a fan of smiths.

Red Rock are nice but they are the fancy, more expensive chip. On a boozey night some samboy bbq or salt n vinegar are the go.

i know it sounds tight, but Colvan salt and vinegar are best. they burn your throat they are so strong yum! however samboys were my favourite until i came across colvan

Samboy's BBQ chips were loaded with flavour. You can actually see the layer of flavouring on the chips.

I think Doritos have just become more popular, I can't remember which one I prefer though.

Samboy BBQ is still out there you just need to look harder these days and it's definately worth it.

I remember them!!! They were awesome. Up there with Doritos, if not better.

You can still get both CCs and Doritos.

I remember the original CCs back in the late 80s early 90s before they and Doritos split into different flavourings. Best chips.

And Muncheros. Fantastic ad, fantastic food. Miss them greatly.

Red Rock are Smiths ...ok different style. Not a fan myself.

My sister used to work at Smiths and they were allowed to take home a full garbage size bag full of chips every week. We pretty much always gave them away as we dont eat a lot of chips. My friends weren't happy when she left the company.

What about Ruffles? They were the shiznit. I remember having it all the time at recess growing up. Haven't been around for years tho.
Toobs are good as well, they just brought them back recently.

When I was little, Dad would often go to the pub with his friends, and my brother and I would be left in the car for what seemed like hours at a time (since we were to young to go in to the bar). Dad would bring us out a packet of BBQ Samboys and a couple of raspberry cordials to keep us entertained.

In hindsight Samboys seem like a pretty shitty consolation for sititng in a car for hours, but at the time, they were gold.

yeh samboy and ruffles were big in the 90's. muncheros disappeared about mid 1990's. so many good things disappear, off topic a bit, i used to love vice versa chocolates and the old milo bars. the new one suck.
