My opinion of Sandilands "was" he would be the next big thing. In fact a few other people were talking him up as possibly the best ruckman in the competition and the next ruckman to win a brownlow.

My opinion has changed through this season, I dont understand how he can get his hand to the ball first on so many occasions yet struggles to hit the ball to a team mate. He wont kick the ball (0 kicks against Kangaroos), cant mark a ball to save his life, struggles around the ground.

IMO i think Warnock should be playing instead of Sandilands. Warnie is able to win the ruck contests and is able to win the ball around the ground, has a good kick on him, HE CAN MARK the football. Below his feet he is awesome for someone over 200cm.

Im sure ill cop a few comments but after todays game ive had enough of poor performances.

apparently he was injured or so some people were saying,
just because he is 211cm people think he is the best ruckman going around, he can't mark and isn't mobile enough around the ground getting found out and has the vertical leap of an earthworm.

If he injured dont play him. Warnie is more than capable

Warnock is apparently also injured.

Sandilands dropped one mark today that he should have held. He was free a number of times and creating options for teammates, only to have them completely ignore him and then see them turn the ball over.

Take a look at the games again - his ruckwork is not that bad. Our midfield sucks (big newsflash there) - they are the problem, their butter fingers turn the ball over time and time again.

Agreed...I counted 3 taps alone he knocked straight down our mids throats and they coughed the ball up and the Roos took it away...

Best ruckman in the comp only to be made look poor by the most pathetic midfield unit in the competition.

Who was it last week that said clearences are over rated ????

I didn't think Sandi's ruckwork was that bad today either. at least half a dozen times the Roos got the clearance because our midfield coughed it up, either through a fumble or through another wayward f**king handball.

His marking is still abominable though (1 effort today aside).

Sandi will raise his game another level under a new coach.
I reckon no listens to CC anymore.
Who actualy believes a word he says on PR on Mondays ???

Sandilands needs to work on his flaws... Here are 2:

Kicking
Marking

Something for him to work on over the pre-season.

If Sandi is injured then rest him, especially if it is OP. Why play a guy like that, do more harm than good.

I never thought sandilands would be a great ruckmen, let alone "the best ruckmen in the comp".

You aren't a great ruckman simply because you are 211cm tall... that's what everyone seemed to think.. "he's bloody tall, he must be good!!!"

The lanky bastard lopes around like a dinosaur and can't mark/kick for shit.

The only thing he could ever end up being good at is a tap ruckman... but as some of you are saying already... he's no good at that.

Dean Cox sets the benchmark atm... he's playing through a minor injury yet he is still able to tap/ruck well, and act as a 5th rover around the ground... he probably receives more handballs than he gives.

Sandilands is and always will be a B grade ruckman.

Rubbish absolute rubbish

He gets 1st hands on it all the time and if he were at Hawthorn this year they may well be top of the ladder !!!!!!!!!!

His height is a massive asset, he towers over many other ruckmen. He looked to be struggling with an injury, just rest him for the rest of the season if he has OP and finals are out of the equation. Let him recover, have a full pre-season and hit 2008 running.

He was simply awesome this time last year when he wasn't struggling with an injury.

He needs a new coach that gives him confidence to take a contested mark and kick the ball instead of looking for the backwards handpass. His raw ability is being coached out of the game, like many Freo players.

I agree, Sandilands needs a new coach. He needs a coach who can jump out of the coaches box, take a grab then feign injury. While the coach is on the ground injured (ala oman) the ump can give the kick to Sandi.

Sandi will come good but what ive seen this year has been pretty ordinary.

Who ever told Sandi he was not to kick under any circumstances needs to be ****ing shot. It was actually embarassing watching him play and every single time he got the ball he had to handball to a guy under pressure, when someone was in the clear 30 metres away by foot. It was just pathetic. If hes injured, don't play him, if hes not, don't give him ******ed instructions like that.

Quick ball movement is the key to our success, well it was last season anyway. When Sandilands gets the ball its a hand pass to a guy under pressure making that man back track slowing the play down. As you say Belnakor, on a few occasions he has a team mate 30m away in space forward of him and he handballs it backwards. I really dont understand what is going on...

Stats yesterday were 0 kick, 14 handballs.

Yes, that's 0 kicks, 14 handballs....

And time spent on the side, lying on the ground getting work on his groin....

Firstly, yes, he is instructed more often than not to handball as his first option. BUT if he has a bung groin - which we know he does - then right at the moment he probably can't kick....

So, if he has a buggered groin... why is he playing???????

Is that a genuine question or do you already presuppose to know the answer?

Genuine roundy.

If the guy can't kick and can hardly run, then why is he playing?

I'm not so sure I believe Warnock is injured either - claiming injury seems to be the "gentle" way to drop a player, who doesn't really deserve to be dropped....
