This is my report from today

Josh Krueger (Glenelg reserves)- sat on the bench for the first quarter and a half. He ended up taking two marks including one great mark in the goalsquare which resulted in him kicking a goal. He didnt get much chance as Glenelgs midfield was thrashed but he moved around pretty well. The thing that impresses me with him is his movement, he continually leads and throws himself at contests going for marks. I really hope the crows persevere with him because their is something special about Krueger. Only finished with about 5 or 6 possessions but good to see him back. Hopefully he pulls up okay

John Hinge (Glenelg reserves)- Started the game brilliantly in the first half getting heaps of possessions in the midfield but the second half he died right out of the game. He spent a good deal of time on the bench in the second half so im not sure if he got injured.

Jacob Schuback (Glenelg reserves)- His first half was poor. His third quarter was excellent when he was shifted to the half back flank, I reckon in the third term he wouldve had about 10 possessions. In the last quarter he was quieter. So in general not a bad performance but he still needs to do better

Ryan Nye (North reserves)- Im pretty sure didnt play today.

Rowan Andrews (Glenelg League) - a better game from him today. He threw himself out the contests and seems to be improving as the year goes.

Matthew Bode (Glenelg League)- sensational first quarter where he had heaps of the ball and kicked a couple goals. Made a big difference to the bays. He was a little quieter after that but still had a good game. Im fairly sure he was tagged after quarter time.

Chris Ladhams (North League)- played a reasonable game but seemed to be in and out of the game at times. Kicked three goals in which two of them were brilliant.

*Bryce Gibbs (Glenelg League)- a quieter game by Bryce today but for a 16 year old playing league he is doing well. Played on the wing all day.

Thanks for the report - great to see Krueger have an encouraging game.

With Goodwins injury, there'll be a need to bring in another midfielder?
Will the club go Bode or the future in Van Berlo? TWT

Maric was best for Port's 2s.

He must have had an absolutely blinding first half as in the second half he only had 4-5 kicks, 2-3 marks and no goals.

Hes improving tho. He might crack a league game next week

Cmon you know that won't happen ;)

Bode maybe a chance - but Begley must spend a couple of weeks with Sturt and we do need to give some new blood the opportunity NC promised us he would.

I know, I was being sarcastic. Here's my ins and outs:

INS: Stevens, Watts and Ladhams or Van Berlo, McGregor.
OUTS: Goody ( inj ), Perrie, Skipworth, Burton ( will not happen).

Ins = Watt/Stevens, Van Berlow, Bode, McGregor.

Outs = Goodwin, Bock, Perrie/Hentschel & hopefully Burton (will not happen) if not Skipworth.

Did he play in the ruck? The last quarter speech by Timmy Giniver to that big guy (Port Magpies ruckman) didn’t have much effect. Maybe Ivan Maric could find his way into the Port Magpies senior side next week if he was BOG.

Fergus Watts: the First half of football he played yesterday vs. the Port Adelaide Magpies was his best half of football he has played in South Australia. He dropped out of the game a bit in the second half not because he wasn’t presenting him self but the dynamics of the game changed and wasn’t needed. The eagles started to kick in to the flanks and bomb it long to Passador and the big guy in the square ‘King’ Fergus did take a few pack splitting marks in the second half and created a few goals.

8.5 out of 10 Best on ground

Chris Knight: Fergus Watts flew for a mark just before half time and from what I saw hit Chris Knights in the head with his knee, this may have knocked him out or in some way injured him. He (Chris Knight) started the third quarter on the ground but was removed with in 3 minuets of the resumption of play.

In the first half Knight was again a ball magnet and was looking good, but not ready for a call up just yet.

4 out of 10 but thats not bad for one half of football. Time on ground 6.5 out of 10, he looked good again.

Thanks for the report C32........well done

Good to hear Krueger had a good game. You say he moves well..... .......most of our forwards move well.....problem is they can't catch or kick..........Perrie looked like a Loviathan at PS training.....fortunately for him those little orange cones don't play body on body....

Apologies for my sarcasm...I appreciate the report really..... (I had a restless sleep...... :p) ......but we have a ton of forwards who move well....I'll settle for one who can catch.

Think Maric has been playing CHF for Reserves.

You never know NC may play him as a small defender on Steven Milne next week

Only because he'll be down there with the other 17 of our players clogging their forward-line in a heavy flood.

:(

Yeah, I agree with you Mad dog. We do have a lot of forwards who move around well but cant take a mark. Watching Krueger the thing I have noticed with him is his ability to crash packs. He seems fearless which most probably results in him being injured so much but at least with him you know you are going to get a hard contest. The mark he took in the goalsquare yesterday was a beauty. He lead hard and when his lead was ignored he ran back to the goalsqaure to soar accross the pack and take a great mark. He just needs to stay fit and play consecutive games.

Does anyone know how John Meeson went in the reserves yesterday for Norwood. I noticed he kicked one goal. Hopefully he played more in the ruck yesterday.

Hes been swapping from FF/CHF to the ruck. Spends about half a game each.
Saw the second half yesterday and he played across CHF and only got about 5 kicks so as I said, he must have had a blinder of a first half.

Id say hes in with a big chance to get his first game next week, either up forward where we are lacking or in the ruck where we are lacking.

Maric could turn out to be a forward. He played in the forward line in TAC cup and he did pretty well when he was there.. kicking quite a few goals. Could turn out to be a Lade type.

Certainly well-built already for his age. Nice, given our history of stick-figure forwards.

I didn't see it, but the Count did crack the best players for South.

He'll be back soon.

Noticed that today. Thanks anyway for the info. :)

Given Goody's injury the Count may be back in as soon as next week, though NC might give him a bit more time in the SANFL. Whatever floats his boat I suppose come Thurday.

ah but you have forgotten that Massie,Ladhams & Begley are all younger than "young" Doughty and Bode is only 5 weeks older so they must be our young future :D
