Call me crazy but wasn't this slightly altered so that teams that got picks last year don't necessarily get them this year........

It was like that at one stage but they have changed it back again is my understanding.

Nah Norwood will take any talls they can get at the moment, chronic shortage of them espicially up forward. We take Forster-Knob and I will be angry!

The Legs would be crazy not to take hudson

Hope you're right. Then when I go down to Glenelg I can watch the form of Watts and Krueger. Along with Schuback too.

I think you could be right about Stevens going first. He is a safe bet for a solid experienced player who will probably spend a lot of time at SANFL level. Forster-Knight is probably in the same boat.

I don't like Norwood so I assumed they would make bad decision!!:D

Stevens back in the red & white.

A tall like Chaplin at South would do nicely.

I hope that pans out. He would get planty of opportunities at the bays and can develop with the likes of Schuback and Krueger which could be a real plus. I also rate Noble's development of players. This would be the best case scenario as far as Watts is concerned.

Port wouldn't overlook one of their "own" so the chances of Hudson going to Port are slim.;)

Are there any Crows/Port players looking at changing SANFL clubs next year - ie Brent Reilly? If so, would this determine who goes where in the mini draft?

Even though i support Sturt, I really hope that Reilly will change clubs- maybe to the Legs. He wasnt given a go at Sturt and they didnt help his development one bit.

Please Leggies, please! ;)

We did it before when we picked Stenglein.

South would be about the last club I'd want Chaplin to end up at. Hopefully they'll go for a Crow.

The only Port ones I could think of would be Gilham or White, but with Daryl Hart gone they may stay at North. Salopek was quite taken with the bays from what I heard, and most of the rest are locals like Ebert or quite comfortable like Cassisi.

Lets not forget there may be some rookies from interstate as well.

As an aside, how will this minidraft be adjusted when the NT joins?
Surely the AFL clubs will not want their players traveling between Darwin and Adelaide too often.

Very good question. However, I think it will be a long time before NT team joins the SANFL.

They are now talking sooner rather than later.
The company that Jackson now works for has apparently offered his services to the NTFL for free, and the AFL is very keen on the idea apparently.

Only going by a few newspaper reports here, so it may all be a crock of you know what.

I'll second that Radar, you little ol' speed demon you!! ;)

Reilly's development would have been far advanced if he had been at a club that had given him even reasonable opportunity.

Hopefully he won't see a SANFL team this year!!

There is no question that something has to be done about the number of clubs in SANFL. Either get rid of one or intoduce another one. They have been talking about NT team joining the league for years and nothing has eventuated. I doubt anything will happen in the near future.

I agree with macca23 and Radar Reilly.

No doubt Reilly's development has been sloved down by Sturt. I will never get over the fact that he was racking up BOGs in the reserves in his 1st year at the club but he wouldn't be given a day just until the deadline.

I would much rather see him at North Adelaide with Andrew Jarman. I reckon he could really benefit from Jars when he plays there. However we all hope that he doesn't play a SANFL game next year and stars for the Crows:D

The NT got close a few years back but apparently it's finances were a mess. Subsequently they put it on the backburner for a few years.
The AFL got involved, everybody else pulled their fingers out and now is supposedly in a much better shape.
If it is ever going to happen, it will be in the next few years.

Personally I see the dollars as the big problem. To have a team you need sponsors and we don't have too many large companies up here. Same problem that Adelaide will have if a third AFL team is ever tried out.
The last thing anyone would like to see is the NT join, and then pull out a couple of years later.
