I don't think we should be worried about a bit of randomness - keeps it interesting if you're not doing so well.

If you don't make finals you're not involved in a third of the season if you only play 14 games.

2 more reasons for playing across byes and playing 19 h&a games:

Much less likely to have a set and forget winner because they'd lose their bye weeks

It is going to be very difficult to shift your teams position in this league as you'll only get to improve your team with 18 year olds. 14th playing teams around them gives them more of a chance to have some more active weeks where they have a chance winning - will keep them interested......

I'll try not to bang on about it if the decision goes the other way, but hopefully..........

Still plenty of time to finalise these sort of decisions. Hopefully we will get a few more opinions.

At this stage I think the priority should be an equal draw. I would hate to see a team get into the finals by beating the bottom four sides twice just ahead of a team that lost to the top 4 teams twice.

I wouldn't be entirely against playing over bye rounds as it does test depth and separate the active from the inactive as you said but I don't think it should be in the same format. Perhaps have an open invitational for the bye weeks. Every team names a side. The highest scoring team gets 4 points, the second highest 3, the third highest 2 and the fourth highest 1? would give everyone something to do over the bye weeks and wouldn't challenge the integrity of the comp? just spitballin' here... the more suggestions the better.
 
I have PM'd SaintBatty. Only concern is that it doesn't look like he's been online since last Thursday so he would have missed a fair bit of the planning and details. Really hope he gets online, would hate to see a first round pick get skipped.

Nobody on here happens to know SaintBatty do they? would be great if we could send him a text or something...

On that note would it be a good idea to share mobile numbers so we can give each other a buzz when their pick is up? obviously entirely optional as I can understand people wanting to maintain their anonymity.
