Besides, Leigh Harding is a contemptible little git and deserves whatever he gets.

Still bitter about that bag of 6 in '03? ;)

I don't know what your problem with Harding is, he never does enough to be noticed...let alone to annoy you. But anyway if you hate him he must be doing something right.

He was playing on Daniel bloody Foster FFS. I could kick 6 on Daniel Foster and I can hardly even kick.

It's the way he carries on that annoys me. Gets stuck into bigger blokes, then goes whining to the umps when he gets swatted. I've got no time for that kind of crap.

Aparently the switchboard at foxtel lit up after they showed Hardings face.

very bad for the game, that stuff.

Prime time saturday aftrnoon viewing and Women and kids were watching that.

He was lucky to get away twice in 2004, but they will have to do something this time to send a message to the football community that this sort of thing wont be tolerated.

If they do nothing about this then we might as well start driving kids to soccer grounds.

The facts:

1. The umpires payed a free kick for a head high contact on Harding.

2. Television cameras show Scarlett swinging his fist in the direction of Hardings face.

3. Harding gets up with his eye swollen shut.

Conclusion: The boy is in big trouble.

Time for the AFL to dump the Andrew Maher type persona and return footy to men.

On behalf of our female members I demand that you retract that mysogynistic statement and seek immediate counselling on the matter.

Andrew Maher is a credible and respected journalist, and to see these statements coming from someone that holds up caroline wilson as the doyen of sports journalism is laughable to say the least.

Warwick, you're an A grade goose.

Flag Man, can't believe you're resorting to threads such as this! You were soundly beaten after talking up your chances all week. Cop it on the chin FFS!!!

I only want whats good for the game. The sort of crap Scarlett pulled is a blight on the game.

Little Didak.
Little Harding

.....and worst of all the fairest footballer going around in Nick Reiwoldt.

The coward Scarlett sure knows how to pick his marks.

What a big brave individual.

Total hypocrite
We all know your type- the bloke who likes to try and dish it out, but then cries foul to mummy when someone hits back. Sound familiar? Not many people like that kind of person- but you probably know that by now already, don't you?

If you were 'disturbed' by that, I wouldn't ever turn on the news. Might see something scary...
Just in case you were wondering, guys can play netball too apparently. I think you'll fit right in. You'll even get to wear that skirt you keep in the cupboard...

You seem to be projecting some kind of cross dressing fantasies here. Please keep this filth out of a sporting forum and in your own bedroom.

4 weeks?

Is that an attempt at humour?

I think he could get it down to 2 weeks with a non contested guilty plea. I am doing the math right now.

Looks like my message to Jon Pierik got through.

Cat Matt in the spotlight

GEELONG'S thumping 69-point win over the Kangaroos at Skilled Stadium yesterday may come at a cost with an incident involving fullback Matthew Scarlett expected to be investigated by the AFL's match review panel.

A week after destroying the Brisbane Lions by 77 points, the Cats' claws were just as sharp, Kent Kingsley leading the attack with eight goals and Gary Ablett adding four.

But dual All-Australian defender Scarlett faces a nervous few days.
He was involved in a scuffle in the first quarter where, in the Kangaroos' forward pocket, he came in from the side and appeared to punch Leigh Harding while Cats teammate Will Slade lay on top of the Roos' forward.

The umpires awarded a free kick against the Cats but did not lay a report.

An angry Harding kicked the goal and was sufficiently aggrieved to then charge at Scarlett and unleash a verbal spray.

The incident was caught on video and this week is expected to be closely scrutinised by chairman Peter Schwab and his match review committee.

Geelong coach Mark Thompson did not comment on the incident for fear of being fined.

"They didn't show the replay and, to be honest, you know we are not allowed to talk about those issues," Thompson said.

The loss of Scarlett would hurt the Cats, who face an improving Hawthorn next weekend and then round out the month with matches against the inspired Western Bulldogs and defending premier Sydney.

It doesn't look good for the coward.

Hopefully Harding does the right thing by the game and gives a report on the dirty sniping coward.

You need something called proof.
How can they prove that it wasn't Slade eye gouging him rather than Scarlett hitting him? Unlikey Slade did it, but entirely possible.

How can the prove Jones's bad eye was because Scarlett hit him, and not because his face was forced and gound into the dirt for at least 15 seconds?

And like your defender on kingsley in the last quarter who smacked Kent on the shoulder and NOT the head (where Kingsley faked it), how can they prove that Scarlett actually struck him on the face and not on the shoulder if there is no vision of it?

They've got about as much chance of proving that as you do of proving that right now you aren't wearing high heels and pantyhose.

WTF??? When did i ever support her, on mention her for that matter?

You are just an incompetent troll Flag Man with a huge chip on your shoulder.

The Geelong boys have really got stuck into you here and made you look like a fool.

Time to ask the mods to delete this thread as well maybe??

Flag Man. Shut the ******** up. Your 10 year old sooky la la whinging gurantees the sane Roo fans on here will be copping extra crap from the Cats fans this week as a result of your stupidity.

Getting beaten by 10 goals is bad enough. We don't need to give the opposition any extra ammunition to rub our noses in it - ever!

Well done Cats fans. Pantsed and out coached - fair and square.

On Scarlett. He definitely threw 2 punches. Video doesn't show contact, although images of Harding's face will see this go up. Assuming he gets cited - it really comes down to Harding's evidence. Will he dob him in, or just say he tripped and fell over?

The Turtle's been a pain in the Geelong backside a few times over the years hasn't he?;)

Since when were you the doyen of common sense.

If Geelong fans have the ability to make you cry then take up kite flying.

Who is commenting on the match result?

Not me.

You should go back and delete this post before you make yourself look any stupider.

Jesus H Christ, after all that crap you go along and virtually agreee with what I have been stating all through this thread you ****************.

DON'T go having a crack at me because the missus didn't put out this morning, okay!!!!

******** off and play diplomat elsewhere.

From today's Herald Sun:

It was a fiery and spiteful opening with numerous scuffles around the ground. The most serious involved Scarlett and Leigh Harding, and while the initial footage of the goalsquare incident was unclear, the circumstantial evidence (Harding's anger and black eye) indicated more could come of it this week.

So they'll interview Harding and he'll say there was nothing in it and that'll be the end of it. Either that or he'll squeel and he'll have heaps more to worry about than a love tap next time the two teams play.
