This is assuming a lot but if somehow the Swans manage to get 6th place by the end of Round 22 what are the chances of us getting to play our home final at the SCG instead of ANZ? I ask for obvious reasons as at the SCG we have a significant advantage and i would feel a lot more confident if our finals match was played at the SCG instead of ANZ.

Also on a similar note with GWS coming in in 2012 i have just assumed that would mean the Swans will no longer have to play our 3 games at ANZ. Is this the case or is my assumption completely wrong?

Not a direct answer to your question as I have no idea but I was thinking last night that if we are to ever challenge for top four I think we need to play all our home games at the SCG all the ANZ games to draw big crowds are often set up to play the best performing teams of the comp ie it used to be West Coast now it is the likes of Geelong, St Kilda and the constant Collingwood.

The club probably get good dollars out of playing there but success would probaly mean increased membership. I think we would be in a better ladder position with more SCG games.

Both good questions and ones that i have been wondering myself.

I dearly hope if we were to gain a home final it would be at the SCG and the upcoming GWS addition to the AFL will see us end our affiliation with that shit heap in Homebush, but sadly I'm not confident on either.

It depends on who is making the decision i guess, but if the Swans are making the decision on where to play the home final then they would choose the SCG as that would give us the better chance to win, as you say.

The annoying this is we often play very good teams out at ANZ. If we played them at the SCG i really do think we would have a better chance of knocking off some top teams. Not saying we would, believe me, but our chances would be higher as we play SCG so well.

Interesting to note that Ryan Okeefe had a dig about just this at the after match last night saying something along the lines of thank god the Bulldogs game is at the SCG and not ANZ. Sounds like the players much prefer playing on the SCG which I assume is obvious but the fact he made a point of it was interesting.

I agree I do like the SCG I love ANZ because of how close I get to the ground but I do like the atmosphere at the SCG. Oh well.

Would like to see only the Collingwood game played at ANZ each year and have our other 10 home games at the SCG.

Another question, when GWS come in. Where will we play our home game against them? It will be a big drawing game so the accountants will want it at ANZ. But it will take away any home ground advantage we could have had.

Little doubt that we'll play them twice a year,ala the Derby & Showdown.Once @ ANZ(Swans being the away team), once @ SCG(Swans home game,naturally).
This will probably replace the Lions"RIVALRY ROUND"game, meaning we'll lilkely only play them once, as they(Brisbane ) will have the Suns replacing us, as Brisbane's rival.
All this is theoretical , of course, until they decide on the formation of the draw with an 18 team comp, meaning we could still play Brisbane or Gold Coast, twice, for example, if the draw is done on ladder positions.
