for now it makes little differenceMaybe not but he's a 7-800K player and if you want to start restocking you just can't do those bucks.

it is and it isn't (year by year) we are still in debt so if you don't clear it then it will impact future trades and list management, you'd hate to get caught in the same scenario that saw us offering Tom Lynch a packet of chips.for now it makes little difference

“There’s still a hangover in relation to the salary cap. We’ve still got some issues we’re dealing with there, but they’re not insurmountable at all,” he (Wright) said on SEN Breakfast. What debt?
Have you seen the changes ?

He no longer is in that pay bracket. He was slowing down this year, a bit inconsistent and you can't play him in the centre sq anymore because he is hopeless in their now. That is the truth of the matter as good a player as he has been. No other club would pay him 700+ He is more like 400+. He is turning 34.Maybe not but he's a 7-800K player and if you want to start restocking you just can't do those bucks.
And therein lies the problem, he's never really shown he can go forward and kick goals or go back and be the 7th defender quarterback, he's a midfielder and even if he wasn't slowing down we need to develop the next generation of kids alongside De Goey Adams and Crisp in there. I don't think our offer will be anywhere near 400, it's ruthless but there's FA if he want those bucks. He no longer is in that pay bracket. He'd be perfect off half back with kicking. Hodge style. And therein lies the problem, he's never really shown he can go forward and kick goals or go back and be the 7th defender quarterback, he's a midfielder and even if he wasn't slowing down we need to develop the next generation of kids alongside De Goey Adams and Crisp in there. Pendles is a truly great player but no not our greatest ever.Apparently on Triple said we have tabled a one year offer but if another club offered coaching deals in a couple of years would consider.
He is our greatest ever player and I love the bloke, but that shows how far of a mess this club is at the moment if your Captain who has never made many mistakes and been perfect in the media and off field thinks that is ok to air that in public. He is not stupid and knows it would create a headline and put all the pressure on the club to up the offer or put an extra year on.
I couldn't see a Selwood or Cotchin essentially holding the club to ransom and just quietly sign one year deals in the later part of careers.
Holding the club to ransom... god what a stupid post.Apparently on Triple said we have tabled a one year offer but if another club offered coaching deals in a couple of years would consider.

He said he'd look at the options. He wants to remain a one club player, but if a club offered him a coaching gig he'd look at it, doesn't mean hes leaving does it bud... He's been very clear he will be coaching at another club and not Collingwood since last year, he's not holding anyone to ransom.. He's just been clear what his ambitions are and the club fully understands and has known for years.
I think if he gets a good coaching offer tied in after a decent final year contract he will probably move.Love Pendles but if he decides to go then so be it. We need to stick to our guns.
For what it's worth I think he will stay yes, and something will get done.Holding the club to ransom... god what a stupid post.

Rubbish. At a time when the club is drowning in negativity and doubt the bloody captain of the club comes out and says he might reject Collingwoods offer if a better one comes along. That is pathetic. Why wouldn't he see his playing career out at Collingwood However long that may be and worry about his coaching when he retires. Do you seriously think he'd have trouble attracting interest as an assistant.Holding the club to ransom... god what a stupid post.

You have absolutely no idea - like the rest of us - what the talks between him and the club have been so excuse me if I roll my eyes at your grandstanding. For what it's worth I think he will stay yes, and something will get done.
I still don't think it's a good look when the captain of the club says he has an offer on the table and add in at the end he would look at other offers if they came.
