Any one playing freo
I'm just interested in seeing what are people's thoughts are of the youngest selwood?

I for one have been very impressed, but would like to see him used in a more attacking role. e.g Cale Morton style

Would prefer to see him in the midfield a bit more, and he should be used a lot more too as his disposal is often good.

Has he already put weight on since the start of the year?
I think he has and has also improved since his first game, good signs.

Won't cut it sorry ( come back in 3 years and flame me if I'm wrong ) has good speed and can turn quickly but he thinks slowly, hesitates, short kick and makes too many errors early on in his career.

he's young, leave him at half back. he has been playing on some hard opponents, he'll learn a lot.

i really like the look of him and you guys doubting him i beleive you are wrong. Scooter will be the 2nd best selwood

I don't know how people could claim this early on that Scott will be better than Adam.

Don't get me wrong, Scotty hasn't done much wrong but I don't think that anyone has seen enough of him to judge how good he'll end up, even if they've watched all his WAFL games.

Maybe Adam is being underrated too?

i'll say jimmy, adam is a gun player. shuts down his opponent and racks up the touches.

Oh no doubt about it, Adam is one of the most underrated players in the comp.

All we can do is give rough projections based on what we have seen. I think Scooter will have more 'impact' in games while Adam is more the quiet achiever. Still a gun though.

Yeah, it's because Adam is a defensive player.

It's hard to rate guys like that -even harder than rating KP defenders IMO - because they don't even spoil the ball that often, rather they block, shepard and follow bastards around. It's hard to notice that when you watch a game and instinctively follow the football with your eyes.

Also, you're right about Scott being more of an offensive player than Adam. I reckon Wiseby was dead on when he said that Scott will be a poor mans Joel Selwood, with the way he plays.

Spot on, Jimmy.

i thought the words were: "a blunter joel" which is more apt. He will mix the qualities of adam (defensive mentality, tough) with joel (classy, more attacking). Whether he will be better than either, it is too early to tell, but potential wise i would put him just ahead of adam and a bit behind joel.

I think we'll have a better idea next year.

Joel was a freak, and came into the league with an AFL ready body. Don't forget that Adam took a long time to crack into the team

If he ends up somewhere between the two we should be rapt

Really like the look of him. Seems poised and his disposal is good. Courage also couldn't be questioned. He's the kind of player you like the look of from his first few games, and know that he'll turn out to be at least decent.

Wont have to wait three years to barbecue you mate, because Scott Selwood will establish himself as a regular part of our team by the end of next year - even with all the good players coming back. Scott was a great selection and will be a wonderful team player.

Mate all you have to do is look at your post history to see that you have no idea.
In the past 10 posts you have made you've declared Scooter, Butler and Nico are all total spuds with no chance.

I like it how you even pointed out what was so incredibly stupid about you writing him off already.

Comparisons to Joel are not really fair as Joel was a solid year ahead of Scott when they started. Joel will probably be better, however I would not judge Scott too much compared to him. On top of being older, Joel is a freak, that doesn't mean Scott will not be a handy little player though. He was very bottom aged when we drafted him, so we were not expecting him to make an immediate impact.
