Scraping the barrel??

Taking a look at the list of Melbourne's unavailible players, and you start to see what I'm talking about. Injuries have hurt us this year, and may cost us a finals campaign. If we do make the finals will we have the experiance and skilled players needed for the pressure situations??

Currently Melbourne cannot select:
Troy Broadbridge (knee) - Season
Craig Ellis (suspension) - 1 week
Brad Green (OP) - Might be Season
James McDonald (injured) - 1-2 weeks
Luke Molan (broken leg) - Season
Alistair Nicholson (knee) - Season
Guy Rigoni (back) - Season
David Schwarz (retired)
Scott Thompson (injured) - Season
Luke Williams (Jaw) - Season

Giving us 27 players to choose from, which shows why players like Funcke are getting games.

Your right, injuries are starting to catch up on us.

However, when Ellis returns, I believe we will have the team to pose a threat come September, if we make it. Add Ellis and we basically have the team that has beaten Brisbane at the Gabba. Not sure about Green and I also believe Williams is back from injury.

If we fail this week, I think we may just be on our last legs.

I think he must have recovered because he was named on the 7 man interchange bench for today's match.

williams, i think, is pretty much fine - although was taken out of the team just before the match.

but i reckon come finals - we'll be right. as adam said - we'll have ellis back. aswell as junior. even if we dont need junior, he'll still be there as an option.
some of the others are a loss tho.

Funke doesn't deserve to be picked after the way he played today, none of your listed players do. The effort was appaling - these AFL listed players who claim to be better then VFL players, running around in circles, doing their best to play AGAINST the wind, only one of them who would MAYBE make the best (Jamar). i have a idea that Funcke might get delisted or traded more like delisted at the end of this season.

Firstly is 'AN idea' not 'A idea'.

Secondly - I think its just a little too early to tell… hes had an ok season and the fact that hes had a few low games here and there doesn’t mean that they'll delist him. I don’t think they'd trade him - no one would want him. I think that the only reason theyd drop him would maybe be coz of the salary cap - having to make way for other players… we'll see…

Funcke isn't any good IMO, he struggles to play well for Sandy let alone the Dees. My tip is that he will be delisted at the end of the year.

Don't know if he will be rushed in. He has hardly set the world on fire lately.
