An ambitious punter has plonked $700 on Scully at odds of $1501 to win $1,050,700.

good to see someones got plenty of coin to throw away

on a side note i didnt realise that brad hardie won brownlow in 1st season i know he was 22 at the time but can someone fill me in on was he any good or did he do a woewodin and have a really good season.

Some people are just unbelievably ridiculous, that sort of betting goes well beyond rational thought.

Still, good to see some people showing some faith in Scully, I actually think he's a decent chance to win the RS.

Stupidity at its finest.

I might go down the TAB now and back some real chances like Dean Soloman and Andrew Lovett.

If you're going to throw away money like that at least donate it to the club rather than the bookies.
In fact the club should take all brownlow bets on all Melbourne players this season. In the extremely rare chance one of the players becomes remotely within possibility of winning the thing they can find a mystery injury.

Whoever wastes that kinda coin on Scully to win such an award
isnt an astute punter.

Considering the kids at $12s for the rising star, its the most stupid
bet Ive ever seen.

He shouldve just put his house on Scully for the rising star.

Scully will win the rising star by panels, its going to be an absolute
cake walk, Toms a ball magnet, a work horse, an in and under player
who is akin to Simon Black - only quicker with more endurance and he
will get the recognition he deserves.

Trengove is a finisher and will be more beneficial in a couple of years
when our ruck stocks are more capable and Scully is able to get it
out to the likes of Trengove and Grimes.

people do that so they can lay in the future, they are probably guessing scully will have a good year in which his price could be halved or watever then he can lay it for a free bet or guarenteed profit at that lower price.

I reckon this might be a bit of a publicity stunt by the club. Last year, the first bet made on the brownlow was $5 on Jack Watts. It made the papers and had people talkin about Watts and the club. Now its Scully and again it makes the papers and has people talkin about Tom and the club. Wouldnt be suprised if we are puttin these on. If we are, pretty cheap way to attract publicity. Money well spent IMO.
