Hello, Falconista here with a Sweet FA preview.
----
For the 35th time, East Side Phoenix take on the Las Vegas Bears this time at The Eyrie. Both teams are hard to get a read on. The Bears have tended to win big and lose small this season although last week’s loss would be demoralising after holding a 4 goal half time lead. The Phoenix haven’t played in a close match for a while either winner or losing by solid margins.

A good omen for the Bears is that the away team has won the last six matches between the teams.
----
To the key players now and for the Phoenix, The Blue Weirdo has had an awesome season at half forward kicking 19 goals and averaging 13 disposals a match. Zoops has been one of the best wingers in the comp and arguably the Phoenix’s best mid this season with 201 disposals and 41 marks across the twelve matches so far. While in the most important position on the field, Shermy has been superb at full back and a massive reason why the Phoenix have such an excellent points against.

The Bears have a lot of players with strong qooty stats but none more so than Supersuns. Sitting second for disposals and fourth for dreamteam in the comp should have Suns well and truly in all-sfa conversations. At half forward is a rookie who made a slow Sweet FA start but has grown and is now putting out some fine performances at half forward. That person is Countrylad who is averaging a goal a match and close to 60 dreamteam. Speaking of goals, Broken has been kicking plenty this season. Sitting second in the Fred with 55 goals, Broken has been flying in a career best season forward of centre.
----
Around the grounds and both sides will likely want a Furies win so they can jump clear of the Old Boys. Eyes will also be on the Gumbies and Dragons, as the winner of this match will be within striking distance or have overtaken the loser of that match.

While those pesky Wonders have the bye. As such, there may be extra visits by Uncle Horry and the Cheese this week.
-----
Now to everyone’s 15th favourite Sweet FA segment, it’s time for Falconista’s ladder update.
----
A Bears win returns them to the eight and favourable results could see the Bears jump as high as fifth. A loss may not move the Bears ladder position due to their percentage but will make it tough in the battles with the Phoenix and Dragons who both have a game in hand.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix can only realistically jump the one ladder position this week. However a win sets them up well for a tilt at the eight with a game in hand.
-----
I’m tipping the Bears to prevail in this one by a single figure margin.

And with that, back to you at the news desk.

Skippers and LGs, get that team sheet in before deadline.
