any of you been a bit disappointed with brown's performance?

hear hear. This kid looks good. Despite stuffing up a couple of kicks he looks like he reads it really well in the air. Hold good possition, knows when to mark and when to punch. Very impressive indeed.

******** does look bloody good in traffic. plays a bit like a skinner pendles(if its possible to be skinnier) and his vision is superb.

Brown will be okay once he learns how to kick a Footy

I'm sure that since he has reached AFL level, he knows how to kick a friggin football.

How about saying Dave The Man will be a good poster once he learns the language.

It would help if you wern't a Smart Ass:mad::thumbsdown:

first game nerves??

That was the case. He is a contest player and with some time against bigish blokes in the VFL he will learn to play the game well. People expect too much from 18 year old's these days.

I was absolutely rapt with Brad ********. Brilliant performance, was able to be where the ball was, solid disposal, and second and third efforts were exemplary all night.

Very, very pleased with this showing from ********.

Brown I was less thrilled with, but who cares? It's only his first game as a future key position player, I have no expectations of him at this point. It would have been nice to see him kick properly however.

the only reason i bring it up is that geelong have tries to teach our promising forwards how to kick for years and failed.
Hopefully that isnt the case with brown

Yeah,very impressed with Dicks game.
He seems to have good ball handling skills and knows where to be at the drop of the ball. Not afraid to get the hard ball either, which is very impressive for a guy of his build. He also looks to have pretty good vision also.
Looks to be a good pick up going by last nights game.

And on Brown,as other have said,I would put his first couple of kicks down to first game nerves.
He got alot better as the game went on.
He's got a good build for an eighteen year old too.

I think both of these guys will get their chances this year in the Black and White stripes.

I was most impressed with his second and third efforts, so much so, Chris Egan could take a leaf out of Dick's book.

Nathan Brown is a long-term player. He will be given every opportunity to cut the mustard at this level.

Egan's problem isn't his 2nd/3rd efforts it's his willingness to get involved when the ball is on the ground, unless it is totally necessary. He just waits (and in an awkward position too) for the ball to come out.

I like how Asterix likes to get involved. He is pretty small, but I can still see midfield potential.

Yeah, He is a bit of a reciever, He really just needs to get in there and get some hard ball gets.

Egan is just a strange cat. He likes to use his body a bit too much at times especially in marking contests despite his wiry frame. I don't think he has too much of a problem in terms of being scared to get the hard ball, he is just lost around the packs. I'd rather him just run away from contest and get loose either a kick behind or ahead of the play than to stand there in a useless position.

From what I have seen he hangs back from packs and doesn't really seem to go in for the ball. He just stands there in a useless position like you said.
