New finalists in WTT... just kidding it's those two again...

DESPITE the tour's best efforts of de-railing the number one and two seeds, JT and Dennis Lopez will meet yet again in another final after the pair made it through their respective semi-finals unscathed. Many had hoped this would be the turning point where another player stood up and took the crown, but alas it will be the Mongolian and the Mexican going head to head again given no-one opted for a dominant indoor game. Neither player has had it completely their own way, but regardless the pair has made it through once again. JT defeated fourth seed reggie - who was regarded as one capable of causing an upset - 6-2 6-3, while Lopez had only a marginally more difficult match against unseeded Australian, sportsmaniac89 with a 6-4 6-4 win. Now the pair plan to etch another chapter into their ridiculous rivalry, which is set to continue with a few more hard court events coming up. But next it will be clay, so there's hope for some others...

SEMI-FINALS:

[1] JT (Mongolia) defeated [4] reggie (France) 6-2 | 6-3
[2] Dennis Lopez (Mexico) defeated sportsmaniac89 (Australia) 6-4 | 6-4

FINAL:

[1] JT (Mongolia) vs. [2] Dennis Lopez (Mexico)

We're doing what next week?
Before a few more weeks on hard where you'll probably go 5000 points ahead before we go to clay and grass, let everyone catch up before we're back on hard at the end of the year... then you go away from the pack again haha.

Hopefully the rest of us will have all the form points leading back into the hard court tournaments so it might be more even.

Despite JT's dominance I reckon there's been about 3-4 games where he looked like losing had his opponent swapped even just one number around. So it's as much luck as tactics, and sometimes you can look like you've destroyed an opponent, however it could be one point difference, or looking ahead at the remaining points, the opposition could beat you if you don't rack up the game wins early on. So overall it's actually a lot closer than just the results (and winners seem).

JT does it again in tightest tussle yet

IT was billed as a blockbuster and it well and truly lived up to its name despite the same result, as Mongolian number one seed JT took out yet another tournament, defeating his regular Mexican opponent Dennis Lopez in the tightest of three sets. Lopez had the better of JT in the first set, winning it 7-5, before both players put on a perfect display of hitting that showed why they are the two top players in SFA Tennis. It looked like JT might waltz away with the second set, racing to a 5-0 lead, before Lopez hit back finding form of his own, winning the next six games in remarkable form. JT found his feet to level the set and head into a tiebreaker, before edging out his opponent 8-6 in that tiebreaker.

The deciding set was exactly the same, with JT running away to a 5-0 lead before being pegged back by Lopez, who took the lead 6-5. JT steadied to force a tiebreaker, and then his experience in crunch moments showed as he won that tiebreaker 9-7 to take out the match, and the title - his fourth of the season and be well and truly the undisputed number one on the tour. With the first clay tournament occurring next week, it will be interesting to see if he can continue that hot form.

FINAL:

[1] JT (Mongolia) defeated [2] Dennis Lopez (Mexico) 5-7 | 7-6 (6) | 7-6 (7)
