Agree, should be a good year for div 3. Even comp
Ye it’s good for football and the clubs if it is even keeps everyone interested and keeps supporters coming and you and players don’t drop of the last half of the year like when a few sides are getting smashed or someone is to good for the division

Just having a rough guess on who will finish where. Berwick springs Skye. Heatherton. South Mornington. Stkilda city Cpl Black rock. Lyndhurst. Hampton. Ashwood. Think the top 4 could all be from 1-4 in these positions and the next 3 all battling for a spot in the 5. city had some really good games last year but there depth might cost them a spot in the 5 Skye picked up some good players from cranny and have good depth and coming from Div 2 should be around the mark heatherton were close last year and recruitment been good plus kids from u/19 premiership side coming through will help Berwick springs have recruited well and are coming from a stronger division than Div 3 south Mornington I watched in finals last year look a aging side so not sure on them at this stage or the other sides didn’t see a lot of them or know a lot about there recruitment did see Hampton in Div 4 they will need at least 6 good senior players and keep most of there premiership side to push for finals which is usually the case when going up a division anyone else got any predictions i could be completely wrong as well on this

Heathertons 19 side was a joke stayed in Div 2 Cheltenham could barely field a side and went up disgraceful from the league and Heatherton enjoy the 19s flag I hope you never win again

Did Cheltenham get a choice or was it based on ladder position because Cheltenham were on top when they went up and in round 5 heatherton forfeited a game and Cheltenham and heatherton drew round 1 so I’d say it was fair they went up but only if div1 wanted to bring someone up for a certain reason

Cheltenham have always had a strong 19s team and I think they played finals the year before (2023) in D1 19s grade so made sense that they were the ones chosen. It was also Heatherton’s first u/19 team in over 40 years with no junior club….so no one knew what they would be like at the start of the year fixturing!

Yep i absolutely agree and with Chelsea heights pulling out a few games in someone had to go up and Cheltenham were competitive when they went up
It looks like and looking at there team list they had over 20 every game not short going buy that but even a lot of reserve sides are struggling now with numbers especially since Covid

Heatherton forfeited round 5 after their 19s racially abused an oppo player from the sidelines during a senior game.

Yeah, the under 19s is a powder keg. You often get them at seniors' games, and it is the first time they have been drinking and at the footy and they work on a pack mentality and go back to the old days where you could shout as much abuse at the opposition as you wanted. There used to be a time where supporters could shout out at opposition players but that is pretty much gone now. You can cheer your own team at a local game now but if you "slag" off the opposition, all hell can break loose.
