Shaw As Captain

Thank god im playing the wooden spooner this week !!

With a few minutes before lockout I changed my captain of Ablett to Shaw. Shaw lets me down and Ablett already has more points than him at half time. Sometimes I amaze myself with these stupid decisions, so for the rest of the year its Ablett as captain no matter what.

Nothing stings as much as having Franklin captain in the week he kicked 1.7 and put up SC 38 points though. Of course I'm a Pies supporter and Buddy towelled us up the week after... bastard.

As a saving grace my opponent, who is also my best mate in RL so there is a heated rivalry , in my main league also had Shaw as captain.

He also had Charlie Gardiner.

So yeh. While it blows Bartel gets drafted next week and gets locked as captain.

Was very glad to see that one of my opponents had faith in Shaw to put him as captain but my selection wasnt much better...
Traded in Boomer Harvey this week and put him as captain as I didnt think Ablett would be at his best coming back from injury (164, how wrong i was), Dean Cox's West Coast would get smashed (145) and I just couldnt trust Buddy or Big Johnno Brown (131 each).

I hate picking captains, my average would be about 70 all season. Scrap the captain rule.

Stop crying just because your hopeless. The Captain rule is what separates the men from the boys! We all have similar teams, but it's about knowing who to pick that shows you know your footy.

I bought Shaw last week, but there was no way I was gonna make him captain just because he is consistent. I want the best that I can get out of my captain, which is why I took a punt and made Burton my captain. It paid off for me this week, as he scored 178 giving him a total of 356.

I have never chosen Burton as my captain before and prob never will again. I choose a different one every week, based on which teams are playing and which players will be on who. Those people who just stick with one guy as their captain every week are just lazy!

Agree with what you say mate unless you have G.Ablett in your side!

But I commmend you for picking Burton as it would have taken some balls to do so. I have him, Shaw and Cox and chose Cox. Didn't do as good as Burton but came pretty close, good enough for me and I think I will be picking Coxy again this week!

I'm sure if you kept a log of who you set as captain every week and compared their scores to someone with an Ablett or a Bartel set to permenant captain choice the average score would be very similar, possibly in favour of Ablett/Bartel. It's a bit like playing FPL, you'd be a fool not to set Ronaldo captain.
