obviously the Gold Shed Membership take up was a little slow

It says over 2000 were sold, so they pretty much sold half of the capacity. They should've said that others will be given a chance to buy passes if the capacity wasn't sold by the Gold Members, but I guess they didn't want to get people's hopes up.

Will be very interesting to see what they do next season...

STO - you'll be glad that you upgraded to Gold Membership when we get to the grand final this year ;):D

So they're finally doing what I felt was the 2nd best plan

allowing people to buy for shed without having to be gold

I still think it would be best for (prices for all 1 home games + away showdown)
Gold members+ - gold coin donation ($12-$24)
Silver members - $5 ($60)
everyone else $10 ($120)

I guess it's a suck and see thing, I am not surprisd the take up on them was slow. I guess the club are hoping that the shed memberships can become a permanent thing, but I can't see it lasting.

I do feel sorry for people that paid $150 extra to go to the shed, but I guess at least they got a gold membership.

They should have said from the start that if the gold shed memberships didnt sell that they would then be offered to silver members at the same cost ie $50.

$2 gold members

$5 everyone else is the best thing IMO

I hate how the club have structured it and it's all about a cash grab and creating elitist memberships. Even if they were worried about the money maybe just charge everyone $5 to get in and give them a free drink of something.

What the ****?

Give me my hundred and fifty bucks back then.

Southerntakeover, I agree with you.

I'm ******* !

I feel genuinely sorry for guys like you who have had to unnecessarily upgrade your memberships.

But I do feel this is a bit of a win for the members, obviously the take up hasn't been as great as the club thought, no doubt the $50 extra charge for gold members felt like a slap in the face to a lot of them.

but to upgrade from Silver to Gold Shed was $150 ($100 to upgrade to Gold + $50 to upgrade to Gold Shed = $150)

I agree that it should have been offered to everyone (silver and gold members) right at the start rather than forcing silver members to upgrade to gold before being allowed to purchase a shed membership.

But wouldn't you WANT to be a Gold member anyways? I thought there was a waiting list for such a beast? Triggy always said that the shed deal would be offered to Gold members FIRST, which was absolutely the right thing to do. If you only upgraded to Gold for the shed membership, more fool you! There was always going to be shed passes offered to silver and other memberships once the take-up from the Gold members was met.

That's a harsh call, there was never any guarantees from the club of this happening, in fact they were at pains to stress if you didn't want to miss out sign up straight away.

That's not the case at all, all the membership info stated that you had to be or become a gold member to purchase a shed membership. There was no mention at all in the membership info that shed memberships will be offered to silver members if the allocation was not sold.

This is what Trigg said in the Tiser "Unashamedly, we're going to afford first opportunity to gold members who've been with us for a long time and we're going to keep back a good number for daily sale. It could be that we set a minimum of 100, but we could find 300 or 400, available tickets for silvers, season-ticket holders and daily purchases ahead of time to buy tickets to get in."

From the same article

"At least 2600 spots in the 3000 limit are reserved for existing gold members, who must pay another $50 a year to upgrade to the premium ticket. Previously, gold members were admitted free to the old "shed", at the eastern end of Max Basheer Reserve."

So going by that info there is no surprise people upgraded their tickets to be able to go to the shed. Trigg only mentioned that tickets would be left over for daily sales for silver and general admin tickets and made no mention that silver tickets would be able to take up a shed membership if the gold members didnt buy their allocation.

more fool you! There was always going to be shed passes offered to silver and other memberships once the take-up from the Gold members was met.

There was no suggestion of this at all. In effect theyve created a new class of membership after the fact now. One which i didnt have the opportunity to purchase.

If you think that makes me a fool, i have a few choice words about what you are. Most of them will get me carded right now, so ill leave it at **** ****** **** ******* **** ******.

Hey Southerntakeover don't get upset! You now have access to the shed, which was never guaranteed. You're not a fool, the window is open for the boys to play in a grand final and you just guaranteed yourself a ticket to the grand final by becoming a gold member:thumbsu:

No Trigg certainly didn't say that verbatim but I had a discussion with a Club official when I was there in December and that always was their intention. They weren't sure how many golds would take up the offer, but they felt it was right to offer it to them first. THEN, when they knew how many would be taken up, offer the rest to silver and so on. Thought I'd mentioned it in a thread somewhere but can't find it now. :o

ST - didn't mean to offend you (or anyone else), huge apologies. I just thought it was common knowledge (as I've stated above) that if not all passes were taken up by Gold, other categories would get an opportunity.

On the bright side you now have the ability to buy two GF tickets when the time comes. :o
