Yesterday during my lunch break I decided to get a coffee so went across to the deli on the street of my work and realized I only had $1 on me. So I was forced to go to the pub next door to get some cash out of the ATM.

While I was there I thought stuff this ATM charge of $2.50, I was the pub so I thought I would use the free coffee facilities in the pokies room. So I helped myself and sat on the lounge enjoying a free coffee. The bar girl gave me quite a bad look, that look that says “Are you just helping yourself to free coffee and biscuits and not actually playing any of the machines?”

So I sat at a machine and put the $1 coin in that I had and pretty much spent the next 5 minutes pretending I was using a machine. So I finished the coffee and then went to press collect but have instead accidentally bet the $1 on Shogun a $1 machine. I have had a feature of 25 games pop up from this 1 spin and the $1 has turned into $1100.

So I had to sign some paperwork and the bar girl handed me the $1100 and I was on my way. But there was a guy who did not look too impressed with me. She explained he had been on my machine earlier and had put in probably a good $400 or so into the machine. I felt a bit guilty and smug walking out of there with all that cash when essentially I have just gone in to get a free coffee and accidentally spent $1. But I guess that is the luck of the pokies.

if anything, the poor dear should feel guilt for putting 400 of her welfare payment (i assume) through the pokies. she's obviously not that bright...

I'd probably shout the guy a beer. I'm nice like that. :D

Once gave a relatively distant relative a tatts ticket for their birthday, and jokingly said if they win we can split it. They won about 45k. I got a my $6.80 back.

Anyone dumb enough to tip $400 into a pokie......

Good win, don't give it a second thought.

I'd probably tie one of the $100 notes to a piece of string and pull it along as the fool tries to pick it up.

In all seriousness, similar thing happened to me. I didn't feel guilty at all.

Australian pokies are completely random. It doesn't matter how much money someone has tipped into it, or how long it's been since it last paid out big. The odds are the same every single spin.

The fact angry man didn't understand this is why he's dumb enough to tip 400 bucks into it.

No guilt man. You shoulda given him a swift kick in the nuts for being so stupid as to sink $400 into one of those black holes.

your a legend mate, haha love this story. i would have rubbed my good fortune in the face of that bar girl. also that $400 pensioner is dumb, pokies work differently to her thoughts.
