I’ve been firmly on team no throughout. You make your own bed.

I’ve always thought any support should/would come in the form of additional list spots like has been given to multiple teams, including North recently.

Given we have now had four players medically retired due to concussion, one who was a teenage first round pick, and two who were All Australians that were set and forget in our B22, I now think it’s borderline impossible the AFL doesn’t give us more access to state league players from around the country to pad out the list.

No it’s not first overall for free, nor should it be, but I think we need free access to the best 24-26 year olds playing VFL and at least backfill some of the depth lost to our list.
I dont agree with them, but drafts comprised via fs, academy etc - resulting in 2nd round at pick 30 - unfortunately mean they are needed.

In a uncompromisee draft, they shouldnt exist - but that's not the world we live in

We’re going to get pick 2 as compo for Allen and that is it. The VFL have us exactly where they want us right now.

No end of first rounders that need to be traded or anything like North got. Zilch.

A one win season is diabolical. The only other team that has done this was Fitzroy, who promptly got merged up to Brisbane. There is no way we can be denied given we are clearly worse than all of North, Brisbane and Gold Coast when they got theirs.
Steady on, GWS second season, 2013, was a one win season also.

Not sure if that makes me feel any better

The club needs to start campaigning for assistance through the media. Put the pressure on the AFL to have to address it.

Don’t make it easy for them by doing it behind closed doors. Keep them accountable publicly and if they knock us back then it puts a spotlight on the credibility of assistance ever again.

If our CEO can’t do this then he’s not the right person for the job because all I’ve seen from him so far is banners, songs and floaty castles.

Do something that really matters.

There are no grounds for the AFL to deny us priority assistance at this point. How much we recieve will probably depend on how hard the club pushes. Publicly they act all proud and defiant (and clearing in denial) that we can solve our own problems.

We should be pushing for increased access to our NGAs as we finally have some over the next couple of years. To get them and retain our picks would be good. Hopefully end of first round picks this year and next as well.

I’m still No, we created this mess, we need to clean it up
Yeah North didnt actually delist all their senior leaders themselves, it wasnt their fault at all that theyve been so shit for so long.

We are entirely unique in that we are the only club to be at the bottom of the ladder because we werent perfect with list management

Plus all the forced concussion retirements we've had the last few years

Yep. The concussions are a killer. In fact, the AFL really should have a forced retirement compensation over free agency compensation.

Actually they can take away FA compensation next year 😆

Has any other club been as affected by forced concussion retirements? In terms of number of forced retirements, but also importance/impact to team (experience)

Might just be in a WCE bubble, but feels like we've been disproportionately affected
