Should there? I think AFL is ' aussie rules' and like china is having it... that is stupid.

I'd love if AFL became popular in the Pacific/Asia.

Africa too obviously, many countries there have started showing more interest in international sport. And we all know what great athletes they have.

Yes, I would definitely love to see AFL played all over the world.

It would be great in years to come if New Zealand and South Africa had teams in the AFL (in addition to more teams in Australia), and there was a European AFL, an AFL competition in Asia (teams from Japan, Sth Korea, Singapore), and one in the USA/Canada, where Australian Football is becoming more noticed and popular.

I'd love to see our great game being played the world over, as long as other countries didn't rape the rules or the way the games played (although I guess Vlad is doing a good job of that already on home soil)

no, afl should be confined to australia and tasmania.
Has Tasmania welched on the rest of Australia and formed it's own country?
Good call BTW Surkin. :thumbsu:

seriously, afl will never take off os but i don't have a problem with exhibition games in other countries

They obviously don't teach geography in Japan. Stupid welcher.

AFL - Australian Football League...
Aussie Rules - The style of game the AFL plays.

Neither should be played in any other country, let them stick to their Soccer.

Well in that case Tassie should have an AFL team then.

What are you on about
It was meant as a bad joke about how much he earns now, and how that would transfer over to the AFL.;)

But I got your point though, I was just being a smartass....but I'd like to see the AFL played at a higher level in other countries, a lot of the countries playing now are playing what I'd call grass roots football in their country.

Using Messi again, imagine if the leagues got to how the round ball code of football has gotten where players from each country moves to another to play, it'd be interesting to see someone from say Argentina playing in the AFL, and visa versa, though that may never happen.

But it would be rather interesting.

AFL is the league's name not the sport. "Should there be Australian rules football in other countries??" should be the question
