The Menzies Liberal Government tried to ban an entire ideology until the courts, and ultimately the people of Australia put them in their place.
By 'ultimately' you mean 'never', Menzies wasn't voted out and retired before the Libs lost power after the communism issue. And it wasn't much to do with 'reds under the bed' fears either.

Stay away from Sky, affects normal thinking.:)
You should stay away from flawed surveys into Sexual harassment at Aussie Uni's. It can make a liar out of you and anyone that uses that information to make a claim. 320,000 surveys were sent out and only 30,000 were returned.

And this relates to thread topic, how?

No , we don't need a tax payer funded media network in 2017.

Yet clearly we do in order to get the range of diversity in programming we all enjoy. Commercially driven programming serves the maximum numbers of people all the time, and tends towards generic lowest comm,on denominator stuff rather than catering for smaller specialised interests. The tax-payer funded model delivers a wider variety of programming.

You should have put a time limit on him, he's had half an hour now, a quick reader like him has probably whipped through it 2 or 3 times so he can answer your question.

maybe he is reading it aloud in mock Stephen Hawking voice to Rachel and Amanda to entertain them?

Interesting symmetry happening there: From the Big Bang to Andrew Bolt.....2 fantasies rolled into 1.

As an aside, have you read I.F. Stone's 'The Trial of Socrates'?
Incredible book, a mammoth task undertaken outstandingly well.
Socrates didn't deserve to die, but he was guilty as charged on the count of having corrupted the youth of Athens. His influence still corrupts, but these days not just the youth, but everyone who suffers from the delusion that 'knowledge' is readily available to all, as long as you have neverending bloody conversations about it. Socrates agreed with this assessment also. Thus, he died by his own hand.

He was one of the best players never to win a World Cup too
