If we can keep him on the list for another year, do it. If there's no room, try to ship him back to WA as a sweetener in a deal. We won't get shit for him alone, so he will have to be packaged.

Preferably give him one more year though. It's just whether we can find the room.

His kicking isn't the problem. It's the pooing his pants whenever the ball comes near him that is, and this can affect his kicking.

The main reason I'm hesitant to get rid of him is because of the patch he had in the middle of the year. He started to back himself in, and he looked really, really good. It was only VFL, granted, and it wasn't a long period of time, but still. Just give him another shot, as I said, unless we really can't fit him in and would have to cut someone else we didn't want to in order to keep him.

Also remember he played a fair bit of this year with a broken arm, including his game(s?) for the firsts around the middle of the season.

yer just a bit worried hes gonna be another andy krakouer play 100 games and play 10 good ones

I really do feel sorry for the kid.

Just taking a little longer to come on than most but has to carry such expectation every time he runs out(AFL or VFL).

He will never be an A grade player like Judd, Abblet and co but given time and less pressure to be a star and who knows.

would hate to see him be traded now and start to perform next year under a diferent coach and less pressure.:thumbsd:

Give him another year or two. What have we got to lose?

Should give him more time. Still young and has shown a little bit.
A few people have been a bit harsh on him I think.

Hoping he will be a late bloomer, taking a little bit longer to develop than some.

Hasn't been given a proper run at it yet. Was a young draftee and hasn't had a full, uninterrupted pre season. Will come on I reckon, one more year for sure. I read in a phantom draft thread of just before he was drafted that if it was based on potential, he'd go number one. I don't wanna risk missing out on that.

Sorry to say this, but there is simply going to be zero interest from other clubs, be they at the top of the ladder or down the bottom.

The kid has shown nothing, other than a few glimpses at Coburg, to warrant any attention from rival clubs.

Move him on....I've grown old waiting for him to come good!

No point trading the kid, we will get nothing for him. I seriously doubt a club would give a 4th round draft pick for him, and even if they would why would we really want such a high pick that we would have to use.
Give him 1, maybe 2 more, years to see if he starts showing something. If he wasnt such a high draft pick he would be gone for sure.

I'd give him another year......like Tambling......like Hughes......like Schultz......like Polo.....like Meyer.....like Wallace.....etc, etc.
And if we don't improve on 2008, then the lot can go.
Cause 2009 is the 'year of NO excuses'.

To add further...
Where o where are all the guys that have said in the past that JON will be a gun?
Where the heck are those wise football judges now? The same ones who bagged anyone who called out JON as a dud early.

You're not too vocal now:rolleyes:
You maybe have 1 more season on your pin-up boy JON.
Hope he comes good real quick.
The silence is overwhelming.....

Foot Note....And if anything will cost Wallace his job in the future, it will be his bad choices, and blind faith in poor footballers.

Hence why I said as a sweetener. If we have a deal that another club is iffy about, we could stick him in there if there is no room for him on our list. He is still a young player who was picked at number 8, so if anything he might at least sway them.

Stop being such a tool Deliberate. The same thread could have been written about Moore last year. And it would have been wrong, wouldn't it.

I wasn't one of those saying he 'would be a gun', in fact, I don't think many were.

I don't mind keeping him for one more year. Delisting him gets us nothing except for some childish revenge, and getting what, a player at pick number 70?

I'm happy for one more year. If 12 months go by and we are still at square one, then by all means delist him then.

I dont think he is gonna make it, at least not with us. Maybe somewhere else under a different coach he might go alright. Id get whatever we could for him even if its a 4th rounder. You might find a diamond in the rough so to speak. Wasnt Raines a 4th or5th rounder?

Saw him at the B&F, and wouldn't say his comraderie and appeal amongst fellow teammates will contribute in his favour either. He seemed a lot like his on-field persona....nervous and generally alone.

Means nothing if he gets a kick next year, but just saying that I think the general consensus is that he's not popular, inside the playing group and Big Footy.

Other than training, you don't tend to see the bunch together, and it was interesting to note the groups...

Hang on, are some of the playing group secret posters?????

keep him...
we houndn him like we did with tambling...
i reckon he will come good in the next two seasons... same thing happened with tambling
but every body forgets that...
he was playing lright in the magoos but he needs to be given a big block of games in 09

its weird,

he looked better pre draft, looked like a footballer, wheeled around gave himself time and room on instinct and looked composed. Now he almost looks like a colt still growing into his body, looks awkward but theres something there occasionally that definitely says give him another year, and for FFS get him into the gym hardcore over the summer

Forget about HB, he will NEVER be the springheeled agile smallish (191cm) CHB that will rebound out of defence, like some of the brains trust hoped he would become.

His future lies as a HF/wing. That game against geelong where we got smashed by 157pts, in the second half he took 7-8 marks as a hit up forward. For any of you masachists out there, pull out the tape and watch his game. Best game hes played and only game hes played up fwd.
