Do we want to keep him, almost at all costs?Or do we think his usage is poor and his shoulders sketchy, and so therefore maybe it would be a good move to ship him off. Would probably be worth a bit in a trade so could be used to either get a decent pick or a player that fills a need.
On the one hand I think his usage is still a worry and I'm not convinced it will ever be totally reliable, but on the other hand he shows everytime he gets back from injury that he has the ability to cover the ground and amass possessions. He looms as an enormous possession getter, and has pace, but his usage lets him down badly.

Have had a soft spot for this kid since he walked into the club. Unfortunately no teams rates him as highly as ours. I do believe we are willing to move him on for the right price (1st round at least?) but doubt will have any takers.

Walker >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Fevola

Why would we sign a new contract within the last month if we were looking at trading him?

It doesn't matter what/who deals the posters on a footy forum want, as far as we know Walker was locked down for another 2-3 seasons, so a required player for 2010...

Poor thread.

Mate - Walker is not worth a first round pick you're dreaming. And to say he's better than Fev... i think you might also be on the wacky tobacci.

Unfortunately I cant see Walks ever fulfilling the potential he showed in his first few years. The game is pretty ruthless on players who turn the ball over so consistently.

The Herald Sun has also reported that Collingwood's Leon Davis and Carlton's Andrew Walker are on the table.

not so poor

It does seem starnge though, so soon after a contract was signed

Look i understand fev has made more of an impact in his career compared to walks atm but im not making a call based purely on what they've done on the field.

One guy has been carrying the 'he's a high draft pick better become a superstar tag' since he entered the league with a bit of 'he's an injury prone player who will never get the best out of himself possible dud' tag thrown in YET he he has worked his butt off to still get as much out of himself as possible without ever once making a song and dance about anything.

The other guy is brendan .....

Wouldn't buy anything reported by the HUN or the 2 Shroomies over at The Age, Wilson and Nial... I would love for someone to go back through all of Caroline Wilson's articles and determine the % of them that turned out to be correct, all her 'exclusives' or 'reports' are purely made up rubbish, it frustrates me.

I agree with you that Tex has a better attitude and work ethic to Brendan, but there is gulfs between them in terms of footballing ability and talent and Fev us second to none in performing on the big stage.

what big stages has brendan had to perform on in the last 10 years? How can a team who consistently finished in the bottom four of the ladder have big stages to perform on?? dont get me wrong I know the fev has kicked bags against all our arch enemies and won games for us off his own boot but i think the big stage is finals, or those games like cats vs st mid way this year. top 2 teams playing that sort of stuff. collingwood/carlton/richmond/essendon are always billed as blockbusters even if we were all bottom four. So he should kick a bag against inferior defenders. Funny your big game performer has never kicked 10 goals!!

I wouldn't.
when he is at his best, he is a pretty exciting talent, and he can play back, through the midfield, and up forward. He can also provide another run-with option should we need it.

Having said that though, if a club was really keen and were goinf to pay "over the odds" to get him, then you'd never say never.

No need to get personal mate. That's poor form right there.

A Walker trade was mooted in the papers today.

And at another site Walker's father said Andrew had signed a deal recently, but he also implied that doesn't necessarily mean he won't get shopped around.

Join the two dots and this thread is perfectly valid.

I would like to see Walks play out of the goal square to be the leading option. He could kick 50 in a year similar to Pearce in 95.

The only reason i can see why we signed him was because it gives us power at the trade table. Give us what we want or he will stay type scenario. Not signed means less leverage for a better deal.

For mine, Walker has to stay. Could be damaging coming out of the goal square

trading Walker is a stupid F###ing idea and should never even be considered. While we're at it we may as well get rid of Jamison, Robinson and Waite.

And another thing, who ever started the rumour that he can't kick... NFI.

God Help us!

Except Walker can't kick !!!!!
You have no problem kicking players and posters after defending Fevola. :thumbsd:
Walker >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Fevola
You're right if you're referring to Walker's passion for Carlton.

His Dad says Walker is so fired up and pissed off after a loss, he's punching holes in the walls.

Fevola sits on the boundary line and sulks after taking off his boots.

Walker>>>>Fevola

Settle down guys. Let us not let the facts get in the way of a good story!

Fact: DOA (Dad of Andrew) just came on TC in a similar thread and said that Andy had been enquired as to his status by only one club (North) and the converstion lasted all of 5 seconds. The club has not under any circumstances floated him. He loves the club and ain't going anywhere!
