There a quite a few sides out there that could really do with a ready made full back with years still in his body:

1. Brisbane (Merrett isn't as good as Warnock)
2. West Coast (they have no back up for Glass at all)
3. Sydney (Bolton has been injured all year)
4. Hawthorn (pathetic backline)

even teams like Geelong could be looking to the future and having someone to replace Scarlett.

We would more than likely get good overs for a player of his ability with numerous teams inquiring.

But what if Frawley or Rivers get injured? Do we need him as a back up?

IMO if it brings us a strong tall forward or perhaps a promising young ruckman i would bite the bullet. Wouldn't trade him for a draft pick under any circumstance unless it was forwarded on to another team for a player we need.

Opinions?

Really rate Warnock as a good dour KPB, so I'd say keep him for depth, UNLESS we get a brilliant offer we can't refuse - as you say, a ready-made young KPF or ruck.

Wouldn't mind thinking Carlton would enquire about Warnock. Need another tall backman, given guys like Bower and Thornton and more suited to flankers.

Mate he's our's, if both team fought for him we would win.

Yes I definately think we should trade Warnock. The perfect scenario for me would be to swap him for Hale if he doesn't go to the Gold Coast. The Kangas need a full buck, Thompson has copped some awful hidings this year I think he is more suited to a Back Pocket. Hale can't get a game ahead of McIntosh and Goldstein.

Fraser or West(I don't know a lot about West) could also be a option. We just need a ruckman that can take a overhead mark. We need Jamar to be at Full Forward and in the Ruck ATM. Johnson can not take an overhead mark that is why his career is over, I think he had to stay in the team to have any chance of staying on the list and now he can't even get a game ahead of Newton. I can't see Carlton or Hawthorn giving us anything that we haven't already got.

Depends what we get for him... his depth is great though. It just worries me that we could trade him then Frawlz or Garland/Rivers will go down.

For a top draft pick, some of the KPP wealth in this draft is super. If we got a Darling/Gaff (Gaff is a Demons supporter, never knew) for Warnock I'd be stoked.

Or even just for a McKinley/Kennedy type.

I still think Warnock has a role to play. He's played about half the games this year and done a pretty good job in most of them. I wouldn't be putting his name up for trade bait. Decent key position players are hard to come by.

However, if a trade was to pick up a good second ruckman or another good solid young midfielder, then i think we should at least think about it.

Martin
Miller
Johnson
Bell
Jones
Bail
Jetta

These are the names I'd be taking to the trade table. Bail and Jones might seem harsh, but they are replaceable and also carry weight to the trade in hope of snagging us something we need ie; good backup ruckman, decent forward or a juicy draft pick. Something we have been good at in recent years is making the right call come trade week. I'll back the club again offseason to do the right thing for the future of our club.

Keep him just in case we get injuries. The guy is a dud ...but we need a back up. This dud reminds me of the King Of All Duds....Nicholson.

Congratulations you have just proven to everyone that you have no knowledge of football whatsoever...:thumbsu:

.He would be in the best 22 of 75% of AFL sides...
.The only reason he isn't playing is because our back-line is very stable..
.If an injury were to occur he would be the first brought back in 9/10 times.
.He is not a dud...you are:thumbsu:

I'm not completely sold on Rivers, don't get me wrong he has been impressive these last few weeks but he has had a period this season where he looked borderline useless.

If he keeps having this inconsistency then I'd like Warnock to replace him.

Some people here are criminally underrating him, he's not James Frawley but he's a "no-flash, no-frills" defender. Doesn't stand out but gets the job done, don't write him out of our backline just yet.

Carlton, Brisbane and Hawthorn could be pretty interested.

Also I wonder if Adelaide might enquire after the loss of Bock? Maybe Knights could come our way?

I like Warnock actually - I dont imagine we'll give him up cheaply.

Our key position defender depth isn't great...McNamara who's played about 2 games...and then..umm Martin...and then ummm errr, nothing else. Our best trade bait in my opinion is Cale Morton. I don't see his body getting any bigger, he's got plenty of talent, but just lacks something. Could get us a very good deal...

Have you ever heard of playing players in different positions? For example: Frawley tweaks his hamstring and is out for 3.... if this situation were to occur, Dean Bailey would then simply play one of Rivers/Garland/Warnock as a KPP and have one of Grimes/MacDonald/Bail/Bartram/Cheney/Bruce in the back pocket position...we have plenty of depth....all that would need to be done is some position shifting.

people on here have short memories... Rivers & Garland are both very injury prone. We need to keep Warnock. Good teams have good depth, trading him for some hack like Hale is stupid, only thing that should even be considered is for someone that would be a WALK UP start to our 22 every week. ie someone like Roughhead, if we need to throw a pick in to get that done well thats what we do otherwise.

HANDS OFF.

Carlton definately need a good KPD

McKenzie may be filling in for Glass but he is possibly the worst full back in the league.
Schoenmakers cant even get a game with the lack of tall defenders at Hawthorn.
Grundy is a gun but is better suited off half back where he can use his rebound.
Carlton actually have a decent full back- Jamieson

IMO Warnock>>>Rivers. But we just resigned Rivers (i would have held off until the end of the year) and he is clearly favoured by Bailey. Even when Riv was stinking it up earlier in the year Bails kept playing him.

In a perfect world i would love Warnock to always be there a back up for Rivers and Garland. But its pretty hard to convince a guy who could get a game at numerous clubs to just play down at Casey until one of preferred choices gets injured.

Straight swap to the Swans for Jesse White would suit me.

EDIT: If for some reason Adelaide was interested id look at a deal for Taylor Walker.

Morton is an interesting player. I would almost be tempted to put him up for trade. However he did miss alot of the early part of this season injured. Therefore I would probably keep hold of him.
