I saw first-hand all but the Melbourne game. It was great to see the genuine excitement shown by the Geelong players when they won the thrillers. But they could easily have been losses, and the Cats would have had a sad record for the past month of one win, three losses. Make no mistake, this Geelong team has some problems.

While it is loaded with stars, some are not shining as they used to, and there are deficiencies in all areas, back, forward and midfield.

Thanks for firing them up for a win.

And when they win the flag Rob will tell us how he reckoned they'd win it all along.

Robert Walls = Moron

Why does this idiot have to write up on either how bad we are or how bad our opponents are every week?

Cats will kill us. Hope I'm wrong.

ROFL ... What a poor OP ...

Geelong won't need this article to fire up ...

Amazes me how much a past champion and premiership coach gets so much disrespect on this board, he loves the club, he just bought his granddaughter a carlton jumper with the no 5 jumper on the back, and yet everyone wants to kick and bag the bloke down, which is disgraceful considering how much crap he gets from opposition fans for being 'too biased' towards Carlton ..

Some people should pull their heads in, he's a print journo paid to write these type of articles FFS.

And the most stupid thing is, if he wrote an similar article about Carlton needing to lift or 'fire up', he would be accused of being too negative/bagging the players again ...

Jesus.

So when Walls has a go at our opponents it helps rev them up for a win.
When he has a go at us... he's hurting the club???
Sorry, it seems a bit inconsistent...

Robert Walls is the least of our problems right now.

Back to his usual tricks..........at least he didn't say they are overrated or something of that nature...........but yes.......you'd think he could produce something each week other than on the Blues or their direct opponents.

.......and don't give me that "ex player and coach" crap.

I rarely see him write about the Lions.

Players don't get fired up by Newspaper articles these days , the Cats are way to professional for that.

Our Midfield get their chance tonight against the best going around, one that works BOTH ways, if we can break even we can win, unfortunately not at all confident...

Yes, he was a PAST champion and premiership coach. But so what? Does that mean he's now immune from criticism? Cause truth be said, Wallsy's a bit of a tool. People disrespect their mothers and fathers, I think Wallsy's fair game.

Rubbish they don't.

I've heard a number of times this year, players mention comments made in the media about them being used for motivation pre-game.

Up until this year Wallsy had a weekly habit of bagging.....taunting our opposition.......maybe his twisted way of making sure we play our best to win.......this year with our improvement he has generally written about us........but here he is again?

Again I ask.....as a footy Journo, surely he is capable of writing something other than about the Blues or our direct opponent that week?

The answer is of course he could, but he chooses not too. Hence, the contents of such articles can to be viewed in a particular light.

Why does he choose to point the finger at Geelong as potential under achievers the morning of a game against his old club?

Give us hell Quimby!

That's a fair article.

Walls owes Carlton nothing.

The Age pays Walls to give his opinion and not mince words on a game if he just happens to have played for one of the competing clubs.

Carlton have had a lot of Friday games in the last month.

What else is Walls supposed to write about?

It's better to have an honest footy writer than someone like Caroline Wilson who wears a yellow and black hat when it suits her.

And knows nothing about football outside of footy politics.

Give us hell Quimby!

The irony of this comment being post on BigFooty...
