I think his form only enhances his tradability - you don't get anything for sh!t palyers and if we want to recruit quality, we have to offer some quality.

simpson has been terrific this year, i've noticed when we has a big game we generally win, there's no way we should trade him, he provides some real run and his disposal has improved out of site

he's one of those guys u would love to have on the end of the ball running into goal from 50 out

simpson is too good a player to trade
loves the club and is considered a leader
key part of the midfield group
just luv it when he runs and bounces the ball, really breaks the lines
we need more of that, especially on our half back line
we need to recruit/develop an attacking half back flanker

thats true but will what we get for simpson be worth more then simpson is worth to the team currently... it is a shallow draft and if it isnt a first rounder i would consider it a step backwards...

Simpson is an important player. i understand to get good we need to give good, but i dont see why we would need to trade him. In fact, if we can get the defence right and fully fit, i really dont think we lack in any key areas.

Anyway, Simpson is still a key player in our midfield. He has good skills and disposal overall, something we need to concentrate on in the team.

And when he was acting captain he really stepped up and showed he can be a leader for the club, you dont trade these types of players.

You dont trade any of your top 5 players unless they are homesick. And Simpson will definately be in our top 5 B&F maybe even pushing for top 3. Stupidest idea I've heard from a Carlton poster, worse than the trade Fevola movement of a few years ago

I think Bower, Thornton and Waite have the covered.

What we NEED is KPP stocks mainly in the forward line but wouldn't be harmful to get another key back or two.

Midfield depth will come with development and future drafts.

Mid year they did a write up in the Heraldsun about the whole Campion Data and Brownlow votes. While its not 100% accurate, normally its fairly close. And according to that at mid year Simpson woulda had the most votes of and Carlton player, Judd included. I love the bloke, reakon hes one of the best genuine wingers in the game

So who do you think we should trade for?

We would probably need a midfielder with good disposal, great at running the lines, good defensive pressure, nice overhead mark, and can kick goals on the run...........

Any thoughts?

;)

Simmo has been our barometer this year.

When he is running hard and finishing it puts huge amounts of pressure on the opposition midfield, not to drop off him onto Judd, Gibbs, Murph etc.

He is doing this year what Stevens should have been......and hopefully over the next month+ these two will be among our best each week.....if so we are in for an interesting ride.

Would have no objections to him being made VC.:thumbsu:
