Apart from 1 game against Jake Carlisle, Sinclair has been woeful the past month.

Hopefully Lycett can string a few good games together in the WAFL and move Callum on.

Lycett had 7 disposals, 1 goal and 7 hit outs yesterday, so either injured or way off the pace. McInnes had 20 disposals and 29 hit outs in the same game, so he is the one putting his hand up.

Clearly Lycett is just struggling through the year ... groin issues would be my guess.

Sinclair - Best game for the club today for mine.

Still a shit set shot though.

Lycett pushing for a recall at all?

He was fantastic getting the ball, some of the best marking I've seen from an Eagle recently. But absolute liability when kicking today, really burned the team a couple of times with turnovers/kicking into the man on the mark.

Incredibly frustrating given the contrast between very good and bad.

To Sinclair's credit, he may not be highly skilled or have great footy smarts, but he leaves nothing out there. Gives it his absolute all and if he continues to clunk marks like he did today, he'll continue to hold his spot and become a valuable player in our lineup.

If he has no smarts or skills he won't be a valuable player in out lineup^^

Unless we want to have another McGinnity?
The thing is he can actually mark. That's the most important thing to a ruckmen (2nd from ruck taps).

I'm going to go out of a limb to say that he is a better mark than lycett. The thing is I don't rate lycett at all. All he did was that fend off ages ago. I have not seen lycett playing a good game (racking up high possession and lots of marks). prove me wrong lycett likers. Tell me a game where he did the above.

Actually 2 or 3 since he got player more than Sinclair at one time. I don't know about this but it seems Sinclair was pretty good defensively.

I still think Lycett has the higher ceiling, and I'd be surprised if it's even close when we look back in a few years time.

Sinclair is weak in the ruck and becoming very unreliable in front of goals for a bloke who was apparently more of a forward than a ruckman. Has some nice hands and his kicking in general seems alright but Lycett's form last year was superior in my eyes.

Lycett looked lazy in the early rounds he played and deserved to be dropped. I don't get to see any wafl but I gather he has had some worries with injury and form. Still, he is properly built for it and was a highlight last year. I have to believe his best is still ahead.

Wait. What good games do you refer to last year were he played?

take your pick. he had 29 hitouts, 21 touches, 8 marks and a goal against the suns in rd 23.
he kicked 4 goals when we beat the pies. against the lions in rd 17 he had 19 touches, 17 hitouts and 7 marks...

Sinclair's biggest issue is clearly his kicking for goal. I knew before he kicked yesterday where the ball would go and he didn't let me down (I also correctly called Selwood's shots at goal, but that's not difficult). But he's not a bad kick per se, so it's clearly a mental thing and that's something that can be rectified to some degree. Yesterday's game was a big step for him and hopefully gives him the confidence to progress. Lycett has a lot of work to do to get back in.

It sounds to me like Lycett as OP. Went too hard during preseason, body couldn't take it.

The only reason we're still probably playing him in WAFL is because we have no backups. If we were bottom 4 we'd probably give him the year off to recover.

the better Sinkers Gets the better lycett has to get . Lycett was injured , probably still is , cant even impact in the wafl . McInnes is ahead of Lycett . Love that Sinkers is there at the minute and he is playing with more and more confidence , Wish the O P would make the votes changeable

So played 1 good game against quality opposition? GC were are rabble in rd 23. Collingwood had two solid rucks on the weekend and compare this to Lycett v Minson earlier this year.

The way its going, Sinclair will retire and the season after all the Lycett voters will go told you so.

Sinclair was chronically underrated on our board last year and in the early part of this year and with him we have two ruckman that are prepared to get down and dirty and help out the midfielders.

NN & Sinclair 1%s are outstanding.

I can just see us in the GF this year and Sinclair taking massive marks but missing shots.

i would argue that most people are jumping the gun on sinclair. most of his performances this year have been only average, statistically and impact-wise, and that's been against a lot of very poor teams. suddenly after one hot game he's a gun? please...

Very much so. Sinclair has benefited from an extended run and through a run of very poor games. While on the flip side Lycett, much like in the past was cut too quickly and then suffered from constant niggles and extended poor form. At the moment he's miles below his, where he's been utterly dominant at WAFL level.
