I think the PS3 version of GOTY Oblivion has a terrible bug that ****s your game if you choose to become a Vampire. Something like that anyway.

This. If you turn into one, you can't change back. Very annoying.

Certainly not the only bad bug either. Still a good game nonetheless.

Once\if you contact the Vamipre disease get a cure before the 3rd day or you're stuck as a blood sucker.

I made the mistake of having a nap in a cave, woke up as a vampire. Thanks to the internet I got the cure, but if I hadn't read the walkthrough I would've never worked it out in time. That would have been frustrating having to play the whole game as a vampire.

In my first game on it this happened to me. Being a vampire was cool to start with, but then it got really crap. Did half the quest to get the cure, then it bugged on me.

There are a few other bugs on it as well, but not many other important ones.

Friggin hate the vampire thing. Got turned into one yesterday when i feel asleep. Last save was like 2 hours ago so had to waste 2 hours doing that massive quest for the cure.

Just make sure you carry a cure disease potion on you and you'll have no problems.

IIRC, the long quest you do to cure the vampire disease (after you become one) bugs around the end. If you don't cure it within the first 3 days, you're pretty much ****ed.

If you get it, travel straight to a chapel and go to the altar, easy cure.

I never had this issue as I played Oblivion on the original XBox 360 release. I bought the game of the year edition on PS3 and just did the DLC's. My brother borrowed the game and he loved it until he got the vampire disease and it glitched. Could only travel at night and he just got sick of it.

Yeah problem is i don't recall ever getting the original disease. I must have without noticing. I loaded up a save file, slept to level and bam i was a vampire. The quest wasn't to bad actually in the end. The reward is pretty pitiful.

That's another thing that irks me is the piss poor amount of gold they give you for quests. I'm doing the Dark Brotherhood missions atm. Level 16 with about 50k gold without even trying for it and my reward for doing most quests is 500 gold. Useless. Same with that chest in the fighters guild. Make my way to Chorrol every month to find my chest brimming with 300 gold and 8 arrows. WOW.

You may have to import it for now though, as I'm not sure if its arriving locally for a while longer.

I have some ground rules in RPG's like ME, KOTOR and The Witcher... I must kill and **** everything I possibly can, so that probably rules me out.

Bought the PS3 GOTY last week. After about 20 hours I became a vampire so I did the quest. After collecting all the crap that I needed, it bugged and she wouldn't accept one of the items. Bloody annoying that I had to scrap that character.

Shame it doesn't have trophies.

I heard you should buy the non-GOTY Oblivion from EB, do the vampire shit and give it back to EB within 7 days and that will fix it.

Not sure exactly what you need to do since I haven't even played the game but I saw that fix on a forum.

You don't need to do the vampire side quest at all (unless you've waited 3 days )

Came out a year before the trophies hit the PS3.

There were rumours of it coming with this new pack, but was declined. Most likely due to the same reason given by Insomniac for not going back to Resistance 1 and patching in that it'd take too much time to implement, test and send in for approval.

If Skyrim is as good as the Witcher series then I'd be happy. Both games were outstanding.

Oblivion is as cheap as shit and Skyrim doesn't come out until November, so go and get Oblivion.
