I'm slowly getting there with money. My strategy is dont buy anything and sell pretty much everything. I did blow a lot of money on a Whiterun house and making glass armour. But I treated myself after a tough quest.

Got this game the other day and am loving it. Haven't played any of the previous Elder Scrolls but I am enjoying this one. I am a Nord and haven't really settled on what weaponry I am going to master yet, am only level 7. Bought myself a horse and it's pretty slow, can you 'upgrade' your horse so it has more stamina and can run faster?

Is there anyway way to reset your perks/stats? I want to be a pure Archer and want to get rid of my Destruction perks.

Are the Conjuration Spells really this bad? How come you can only summon Familiars and Atronachs? In Oblivion, you could summon Skeletons, Zombies, Ghosts, Scamps, Clannfears and Wraiths among other things, but it's so limited here. Definitely one of the most disappointing things about this game.

I recommend restarting if you put that much points into the destruction tree already, until a damage scaling mod comes out for destruction its pretty much a dead class post level 30 because the damage does not scale.
At one point I had to cast 20+ fireballs to kill a dragon (proper perks too) which is a pain in the ass because the projectiles move so slowly and the dragon hardly ever came to ground.
Restarted as archer and have never looked back, I one shot most creeps and 3 shot boss mobs.

You can definitely summon zombies in this one. I have 2 different zombie spells.
Not sure on the rest. I have a feeling there is some sort of ghost spell, but im possibly thinking of the lucian lachance one.

Im pretty sure ive got all the conjuration spells including the thralls (the conjuration quest line)
All up i have the flame, storm and frost attronarch. Two familiars, The raise dead spells (can raise most enemy's to fight for you.) The permanent thralls flame,storm,frost and dead. But easily the best is the dremora(?) lord, just summon him and he takes care of most everything with a few hits.

NO... no way to reset stats/perks once allocated ( I think you can on the PC via some command code hack).
One way would be to revert to any earlier saved game... or start again... so don't be in a rush to allocate, carefully plan your character well ahead and save/store your perks etc.
Doing the Elven quest where you have to find out some things about the dragons and am stuck big time. I have NFI how to escape the castle, every door i open either leads to an outside courtyard or back into the same room i just left. Every time i open a door some mages and guards spawn in front of me so i cant move and just **** me up big time. Last save was from yesterday and since then I've found 2-3 new shouts and other stuff.

Use the companions axe Wurrthrad (I think) if you have it, very effective against the elvish breed

does the map option help? it usually allows you to see the layout of the castle/house.

Still extremely disappointing though. You'd think they'd improve on the amount of spells but they just got rid of most of them. My favourite in Oblivion was the Clannfear, but now I have to rely on the sluggish Atronachs.

How were they trapping you... couldn't simply have used your Intimidating Shout dragon skill to knock em down and then sprint past?? Anyway sounds like your sorted now.

Just finished Miridias quest, loving the sword you get from it.
Started off wielding double maces because of the damage, playing now with double swords for the speed and it's a lot better imo. doesn't block half the screen as well

Anyone else play on PC? I find the game runs alot smoother when I'm in 3rd person view rather than 1st person. Surprised I can play a game of this detail in high ultra on my crappy vid card.
