House + 5000g

Kachinggg!

the youtube dude said to opt out of conversation before accepting, or maybe i heard it wrong.

will try this tonight and see. i dont want to use many cheats in this game but $5k for a house is expensive when you only have $7k.

Just as a warning to those 'cheating' to level up (i.e tradeskilling to 100).

The game scales monster levels via your overall level, so getting to 30 by doing blacksmithing/alchemy can make the game insanely hard due to you having low weapon/defense skills. Have read a few things on the net where people have made the game too hard for themselves by levelling cheaply.

have read those too, but so far,so good. I don't beleive them personally, 'coz I have hit 35 and shit keeps getting easier as I level up

Can be countered by using smithing pots+gear to create and upgrade weapons and armour to some pretty decent levels. I'm level 34 or something and my legendary daedric bow is rated at 115 damage. My armour is nearly all legendary. Some people have taken it too far and exploited this by making bullshit weapons, but I wanted to keep it within reason.

like your avatar:D

Finally have had a sit down and a crack at it. Up to Lv6...dark elf and primarily using destruction magic (with a handy war axe if I need to get dirty). Just fought the first dragon (won't say where it is for any other newbies, but those who've been through the game know) - pretty good fun.

And can someone tell me what the grey bar on certain weapons is?

It is on any magical weapon... that is how much "charge" it has left to trigger the magical effects.

IMO it is a bit of a silly mechanic, but basically it is this:

- magic weapons each have their own "magika" bar that is used for the magic effects (they still do physical damage)
- to recharge a weapon you must first refill "soul stones" you find and carry.
- certain skills/weapons refill your soul stones when you kill things.
- you then use filled soul stones to recharge your weapon from the inventory menu.

:$

Such a complex system IMO.

So many side quests, never get bored. My smithing is actually pathetic, I'm level 27 but it's all from other things.

Do you need perks to create dragon scale armour / strong weapons or is it a matter of smith level and the right ingredients/ores/leather etc?

Oh ok thanks.

Also, if you know, do shouts need soul stones? I heard somewhere they do...

And is it possible to get a dragons soul into a soul stone? And how do you do that?

I know you definetly need to put perks into smithing to be able to smith the higher level stuff.

I think maybe dragon bones and scales may contribute to making Dragon armour but not 100%

Dragon scales are for Dragonscale armour (light), and dragon bones are for Dragonbone armour (heavy).

Need Dragon Souls for the shouts, and they're absorbed automatically with every Dragon killed. Not sure with soul trapping a dragon, would assume so?

was just traversing around whiterun and lo and behold there is newly slain dragon whose soul i got to adsorb. awesome.

when i completed the dustbin cairn quest with f-a-r-k-o-s i purposely walked through the mammoths on the way back to whiterun. weak as piss f-a-r-k-o-s takes a couple swipes and then yields and disappears.

and i finally got the breeze house. left to go do stuff and come back and lydia is in there. she wasnt even my companion at the time. wtf??

Yep Lydias well dead. She was standing on a trap platform. I pulled the lever (not knowing she was on the platform) she went up living and disappeared. Later on in the dungeon her corpse appeared on a stairwell.

For those looking for a good house, just finish the College of Winterhold quest line. The Arch-Mage quarters come with an Alchemy Lab, Enchanter and reliable storage. Looks nice as well (also get an amazing staff to use against mages).

This.

Not sure what the other houses you can buy are like, but this would have to be just as good.

Comes with a bed, heaps of cabinets and bookshelves, chests, alchemy tables and an enchanter.

Also has a big indoor garden with heaps of ingredients for Alchemy, which is really cool.

Would have to be just as good if not better than any of the lower level houses you can buy, so I would say save yourself some coina dn do the quest to get the keys.

Is there an enchanting table anywhere in Whiterun? I'm carrying about 100 weight around in enchanted crap simply so I can disenchant it...

Just a tip, if you get any of your magic skills completed/high enough go to the college and get the quests to get your final spells.

I just did the destruction quests (3 awesome new spells) and the Conjuration quests - can summon one (or two if you have the perk) of 4 "permanent" companions.

By the way if your thinking of using conjuration magic do it, starts of tough and not great to level but when you get higher it's awesome.

Has anyone else had that glitch where you complete the misc missions you receive from a jarl (collect reward) and it doesn't remove itself from available quests once collected?

Is there a patch that fixes that?

Also, has anyone else bought the house in Markarth and attempted to dress the dummy up in armour, only to have it become invisible once you do?

One is in Dragonreach. Where the mage is.

Money isn't too big an issue if you play it well.
I have 77000 gold and some items worth a lot of gold on me as well, that's after buying a house/spells/misc crap.

Just a matter of carrying amap and waiting for the shops to have enough money again. :thumbsu:
