Young Charlie Gardiner got an ENTER of 99.7 odd, and is now doing a law degree.

I've long been of the opinion that intellectuals don't make great footballers.

Obviously there's an exception the rule, but if you look back over the best players ever, very few were a part of the academia.

Yeah, he'd have to be one of the smartest Magpies. Not sure who else is actually studying - probably most of them. Depending on your definition of smart, Licuria might be up there. He has his pilot's license, he's an electrician (I think), black belt in karate, etc etc. If not 'smart' than he definitely knows how to apply himself.

Sam Power goes to uni with me and is studying commerce/law at melb uni, smart bloke and a real nice guy as well, ive seen teddy richards around at melb uni as well, not sure what he is studying though

I've never seen them around. But I'm usually only around the science area.

Haddrill studies partime in my faculty at UWA - he's doing an ag degree (hort & vit or animal science...i think).

Pav also studies human movement at UWA.

i have some lectures with travis gasper at UWA- he seems a real top bloke....but certainly not overly intelligent. i think wosha is making every player do sumthing in there spare time either a job or study..

as evidenced by josh wooden working at my school as a gardiner.

Its all well and good to say players go to uni, but I would love to see how many finish their degree. I go to uni in Geelong, and so do half the Geelong football club, that doesn't mean much though.
