Seems to have slipped due to poor form may still be a booster some in the media still rate him as a late first round pickHi Smythe,
What is the go with Ashton Moir? Slipped a heap on all mock drafts. Looks super classy.
Yeah, that was stipulated in the first sentence.No. You just made things ridiculous. There is no way that's happening.
Basically we all know what the kid can do, silky, smooth, and kicking is technically sound on both feet from any distance, however this year he never progressed, he also did not regress, but most of those rated higher in rankings and phantom drafts went passed him this year, they progressed their games and showed more, he did not. when it comes to drafting most clubs draft knowing what a player can do but they get wary of prospects that don’t improve in areas of their game in their final year especially in the big games and he didn’t. They know what he can do and I definitely think he will be drafted by a club who back themselves to get the most out of him and think they can improve his game. For me he has no grunt or toughness in his game and his testing profile was not great. Hopefully he can realise his potential though. It definitely will be interesting on draft night to see where he falls in the picks, is it earlyish because of potential, is it later because of his testing and the year he had or could he fall to rookie? I doubt the latter happens but I feel it’s the mid to late second round.Hi Smythe,

I prioritised best KPP prospects for the lions at that stage and still have the thought that it’s the way the go, however I have gone slightly different with their picks in my upcoming phantom draft.Always a good effort when doing a phantom draft, however just a comment on Brisbane's selections.
W.Dawson
G.Stevens
P.Snell
Not a skerrick of speed and if we know anything of the Brisbane Lions drafting speed is valued highly.
If Brisbane has interest in Snell unlikely to be drafted in the main event. At best a rookie selection.
However nothing is beyond possibilities.
if that happens, North would take Reid at 1 then if they really like Curtin they would take him at 2. I don’t see wce trading 1 personally unless it absolutely guarantees them Curtin and another very high top end talent.West coast are in an amazing position

A few pick swaps included, kinnear and the swans trading back with north, Dodoro having a bid, Richmond trading up with Gc.
* there maybe a pick or two out of its correct order at the very back end, but each team picks for need and depth in areas and are different from those around so it did not affect the outcome of who I had going to each team.

It was very close to being Murphy and green, I just thought that tholstrup is a good fitIf Sydney traded back and then got Murphy and Charlie Edwards to me that would feel like an amazing draft, though Tholstrup and Green are quite good options too.
You are probably right with snell, with vigo, I think he has some versatility, more so than the developing ones you already have, although perhaps gothard up one pick, then Stk go Delean and wce go vigo…. it is very even in this range so yeah could work.Great work Smythe, always enjoy your draft thread.
Love Wil Dawson at our 1st selection, however not a fan of Vigo Visentini a ruck at our 2nd, we already have 2 main rucks and 2 developing rucks on our list. Would of much preferred Phoenix Gothard who went the pick after, with McCarthy/Cameron both 30 years old a small forward is an area of need going forward.
I don't think Patrick Snell will get bid on so I would leave him to the rookie draft if we even want him... Kane McAuliffe, Jack Delean, Joe Fonti would be better options IMO.

Thanks for the year mate, been a good read. Who'd you like for Tigers last spot?Done and dusted for the year. Such a hard one this year (in terms of mock draft) with clubs preferring to wait until the night to swap picks and trade futures, but I’m happy with who I thought would get drafted, having only five players on my list go undrafted and having 7 players drafted that I did not have up that high. Congrats and good luck to all the kids drafted through the ND and Rookie draft.
On to 2024
I think they would have a few they are keeping their eye on for the msd in 2024, however if they chose to take a train on player from this years draft crop who missed out I have liked Geordie Payne all year. Do they already have enough similar types though, maybe. My guess is they are probably looking at a KPD in the msd, probably a mature ager going on past historyThanks for the year mate, been a good read. Who'd you like for Tigers last spot?
Big year next year for us
