What exactly is a troll topic on forums, from my understanding It's when you make a topic deliberately aimed to piss off and get a reaction from the people It's targetted at, EG: Making a stupid thread trashing carlton or something. So i guess the discussion here is what do you actually consider a troll it seems to me like every thread i think is just a normal discussion on a topic gets supporters from that club calling it a troll.

A troll, most commonly encountered on the internet, is any person who purposely causes controversy in a web community and disrupts shit for his own amusement. The term probably derives from "trolling" or "trawling", a style of fishing which involves trailing bait through a likely spot hoping for a bite. Troll is fine as a verb since trawling/trolling for comments and flames is innate troll behaviour.

Most trolls believe that they are, in fact, funny. Anyone who does not agree with them is obviously either: overly sensitive, has no life, no sense of humour, or is a combination of two or all of these. In many instances, one can see where troll has in fact messed up but is too wrapped in his own little laugh to notice how much of a douche they have really been.

This is what a BF troll looks like in real life:

Brief explanation - someone who posts something to deliberately cause a negative reaction

The only people who find trolling offensive are those with their head planted firmly up their arse. Life isn't all about being serious. Those who don't accept the need for a bit of light hearted fun are more likely to look like that hero in the above post.

Maybe, unless it's done purposely by a 16 year old time and time again in an online discussion site.

It helps to know a users history.

Oh, and the troll seems to have worked.

The best trolls adopt a level of discussion much below their normal level of communication. When the people who have taken the bait respond thinking they're superior it makes the whole thread a lot more humorous.
