Fremantle defender Dean Solomon will miss this weekend’s second-round match against Hawthorn at Subiaco after being suspended for one match for rough conduct.

The former Essendon player was charged with a level one rough conduct offence against Collingwood veteran Shane Wakelin during the opening quarter of Saturday’s match at the MCG.

His previous poor record and existing carry-over points means his sanction must remain at one match, even with an early plea. The incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points).
