Faith again thanks
Not quite.
My inside source is the number 3 in line not the number 1.
Some of you say im rendell, others say he is my source, others say i have no source.....

just a bit of advice for you FAITH. Next year keep all your inside information to to this board only as you cop unfair flack from oppostion supporters when posting on the draft board.
The good ones who want to find out more will probably come onto our board to ask you any questions related to their club.
Cheers once again Faith![]()

Caught up with my source on the weekend. Had an interesting conversation about a few things, this is all i remember:
2009 Draft:
- Port were always taking a mid and Butcher (who they need) so that was understandable, but Talia will be a way better player than the crabs they have in defence.
- Melbourne have zero in defence and they picked Gysberts who crows rated at 25 and would have taken him with pick 61. Time will tell, Talia’s ex coaches actually think he will make a very good midfielder;
Shocks of the draft:
-Gysberts going so early was a shock but the Swans were thinking about it at 14, Howard at 15, we would have picked him at 29, Menzel at 17, didn’t think Talia would get passed Melbourne (completely devoid of KPs) or Carlton who have the same problems.
-Those 2 clubs obviously don’t rate them as high as the crows but we also looked to the future and if we finish 2010 where we did this year our picks will be 23, 40 and 57 and I’m fairly certain all decent talls will be gone by then, we were also looking for a player who we thought could play full back in 3 years to replace Rutten (he will be 30 then, but we also haven’t a replacement now if he gets injured) and had Luke Thompson and Reid pegged but happy to take Talia who we also think can play onball and forward.
- He agreed with NM and WB about the 3 genuine class talls in this draft (Butch/Talia/Black). For a fleeting moment he thought Black was going to get to 29. Similar to McKernan last year. They really liked Black. Its astonishing that you would pick Tapscott over Black.
- James Craig will be a very good, tough, physical ruckan with great touch. He Doesn’t know if he has enough pace and agility for FB, which i suggested he would make a better FB than ruckman;
- Aidan Riley will be a very good player when he can get some continuity and confidence, plays tough and straight (Bickley mould).
On the coming season:
-McKernan would have played the last 7-8 games but for breaking his arm so he is ready.
-Petrenko very capable of getting and holding a regular spot .
-Davis, baring injury will take Ottens spot.
-Wouldn’t surprise me if Craig plays this year.
-Walker will be heaps better.
-Young likely to play early.
-Sloane a definite stater in the midfield group and would like to see Armstrong get a go.
-Jacky will have to fight with Douglas and the likes for that half forward/wing spot.
-Cook ready to go into the midfield as well.
-The biggest improver next season:
Walker, Sloane, Davis and McKernan baring injury all play first game
Rookie Draft:
-Will take the 3 picks if we have players left on our list. WE WILL NOT PICK ANYONE over 24 years of age.
Faith I enjoyed reading your posts over the drafting period and as it turned out you had alot of credible information. However wtf are you on about saying Melbourne has zero KPD?????
Warnock, Frawley, Garland, Martin, Rivers, McNamara if anything we have a surplus which I believe is one of the reasons why we didn't take Talia.
Anyway good luck guys didn't mean to intrude.

thanks FAITH this stuff is gold![]()

Hey Faith, really enjoy your posts. Just a question on this, was looking back at some of the things you had to say and one post I remember you making said that you had heard Adelaide still think he is a season away from playing AFL but after the Otten injury you posted this which seems like a big change in hearts. Because of the Otten injury are we now planning to play Davis earlier then hoped?
I'm not FAITH, but being that Davis was listed as an emergency several times last year it seems to me that they were close to playing him. I guess he's ready to play, but probably still a year away from having the body to show his true form?
