i came on this board earlier in the year and made a few statements that, some would say was to early to make... but after todays crap effort against a side we should beat im left with similar conclusions.

If anyone on this board can tell me that they believe cameron wight will help us win a premiership id be stunned, he is to skinny and he needs to go as soon as Grant is back, he is just a liability down back and makes to many errors, why not give williams his roll, cause i think he has a better football brain and wont make so many crucial errors, hurry back chris.

Luke Darcy we have to really think about, he is not helping us at all, even in the games we have won, yes he kicked 4 against the tigers, but he is to slow, i love him he was a champ for us, but will minson will offer us alot more, working with streety i think.

next week dogs please bring mcdougal in and stick him in the goal square, just give him a chance and see how he goes, dont play him chf, leave him deep. rob murphy can play chf and chris grant chb when he returns, it will strengthen us up alot, i believe mcdougal can play full forward for us, but he needs the opportunity!!!!!

i dont blame eade at all, he is great for our club i think and he us got us into this position of challenging the best of them, but we have to many weaknesses at the moment, im not to harsh on cam if i was coach he wouldnt be in my 22, id be giving williams a chance or everitt if he is ahead of williams, but my oh my, how much do we need chris grant, its unreal how much reliance can be put on a 34 year old in probably his last year, but he will make a big diffrence.

So on the one hand you say he is far to critical of the players and that we are lacking confidence. So your way to fix it is for Eade to dump a number of players wholesale, yep that'll do wonders for confidence!
Eade has not changed his style in the good or bad times... He is an honest person and I think the players would prefer that (if they want to make something of themselves) than someone who just pumps up their tyres when they are not performing.
What comments in particular that Eade has made make you jump to the conclusion that he is damaging their confidence??

The team is not playing to potential. But you don't lose talent overnight... this is not a game to make rash decisions... unless you want to turn a wobbly season into a terrible one.
The team is playing gob-shite at the moment... but making numorous and overly rash changes is not going to turn things around like magic. Rather getting the team to pull together and play to team rules and work hard. And if that needs to come via some home truths being given then so be it.

I think Cam W has a big upside but he does turn the ball over at crucial times and it is usually costly, as our players have left their man to create space. This usually results in a goal. I think a couple of weeks in the bees won't do him much harm. Give Williams a couple of weeks. He appears to be one of few who can take a contested mark. Wouldn't rule out elevating pask and place harbrow back as a rookie. Harris is in career best form, I know it is dangerous flirting with his form but maybe it's time he has another go at FF or CHF. Place pask at FB and Williams at CHB. Doogs should probably be given a chance also.

Up to now I have not had many concerns as I thought we structuring our season like Sydney has in the past to peak second half of the year. I am now having second thoughts.

I agree with what you are saying but apart from the 1st game against Geelong we haven't played well for a whole game and seem to be getting worse. How long do we wait before we drop those out of form irrespective of their reputations?

We've kept dishing up the same backline all year and it clearly doesn't work. Build a backline around Harris/Williams. I know i will be bagged for stating Williams but we have no other option. Wight too small/not up to it and Everitt is too small; he would get smashed. He's skinnier than Wight. Unfortunately Darcy has to go. He made Ackland look good. Never seen our blokes argue amongst themselves so much.

You can't blame the backline. Morris and Harris were rock solid. They can only do so much with the amount of football coming in from the midfield.
If anything has to be rebuilt, it's the midfield and ruck strategy/coach. And when the backline players get the ball from the backline and look up..it's also not their fault when the midfield and half forward line, don't help them out with effective leads!

Spot on. Our backline was leaking like an absolute sieve today. Not only do we give up goals, but it's the easy of those goals which frustrates the hell out of me.

Put Williams and Everitt in the side and leave them there for the rest of the year. For our backs to be outmarked by Lappin was pathetic.
