Weird how when this happens to Collingwood everyone is interested. If this situation happened at any other club, doubt anyone would care, I personally don't think about other clubs situations at all.

For those talking about the 'delusional' Collingwood fanbase - understand that the random dipsh*ts online and some accounts that are almost certainly associated with the club's PR department are not representative of the non-online fanbase. Yes, there unfortunately is a rusted-on idiotic part of the fanbase, but it's not even close to the majority right now.

Every single pies fans I have spoken to in the real world, and that's been a fairly decent sample size, is absolutely furious. There's not much affinity for Bucks and Eddie to put it mildly.

And the whole 'if the fanbase isn't delusional why haven't you sacked Bucks and Eddie?' thing is extremely disingenuous. We were in a GF two years ago, then a prelim, and won a final this year. Our off-field performance has been very strong. Until this week, there were lots of problems but no emergency. You're the delusional one if you think it's easy to just oust a President and coach through popular revolt under these circumstances - clubs usually need to be in an on-field or off-field crisis for something like that to gain momentum.

The problem is how much control Eddie has over the club, and yes, within that part of the problem is some delusion in the fanbase. But as our American friends are teaching us, even if a fat racist d*ckhead loses popular support, it still might not be that easy to get rid of him if he doesn't want to go.

I find this intriguing.
If Eddie is overseeing a shambles why don't members at the AGM demand better? Why doesn't a rival ticket challenge?

One minor difference being that we were over-run by a far better side who were well in front by the final siren, kinda reminiscent of 1996. Collingwood were also, arguably, over-run by a better team - but it only happened in the last 2 minutes.

I don’t know if Collingwood supporters are aware of this but an online petition for forcing Eddie and your board to answer questions about the current debacle, is on! About 800 people have already signed it, I think the endorsement of 100 members is enough to force a meeting. Now, I know I am a Richmond supporter etc, but since so many of you are clearly-and justifiably- outraged with those leading your club, especially with El Presidente, General Eduardo McGuirente de Collingwoodia, you may want to do something about it, instead of just whinging and moaning!

...what they should be doing is setting up a petition demanding Eddie, Bucks and whoever else is responsible for this debacle at their club, TO STEP DOWN, LEAVE OUR CLUB.

Eddie is so good at re-directing spin in a whole different direction....in fact there is a story announcing he and Darcy are quitting their breakfast show. They also both lost a parent within 2 days of each other..

...but now, in the papers since this Treloar business has really blown up, the story has turned to the tragic reason Eddie is giving up his show (loss of parent) etc...

Reading it, I couldnt help wonder if the spin/deflection has started.

...but good luck to Pies supporters, good to see them standing up to their club. No supporters should be fed B.S, clubs need to be reminded of that every now and then. They are nothing without their supporters.

I paid close attention to:

• Carlton's salary cap issues and Mick Malthouse's tenure.
• Essendon's drug saga.
• Richmond having off-field issues for years and an opposition ticket emerging at the end of 2016.
• Adelaide's infamous camp.
• Western Bulldogs losing their captain and coach simultaneously in 2014.
• West Coast's downfall post-2006, especially with the situation involving Ben Cousins.

Well said. Carlton never quite recovered. Well... at this point in time. It was why I wrote my other post. Duty of care. These people who pass through our clubs should take greater care. They leave a shit-show behind but it is the supporter that is always there, wearing their colours to the very end.

You have to wonder where the captain is in all of this. I know Pendles is a company man, but he's one of the most invisible captains in the comp. If Buckley is going around telling players that the playing group hates them, as a captain surely you're involved in that one way or the other?

This isn't pendles' problem to fix though.
