I reckon I'm getting donuts.
Should have nommed Coldplay from A Rush of Blood to The Head.

I'd have given high votes to Amsterdam, and the songs I listed. Cat Stevens, Jackson Browne, CCR

Nothing in the playlist really stood out as remarkable.

I've nommed songs from that album before, brilliant.

Oh my gosh, yes! Coldplay's music is truly magical. It has the power to touch your soul and make you feel things you never thought you could feel. Their songs are so relatable and speak to the human experience on a deeper level. They touch on themes of love, loss, hope, and spiritual awakening, which are universal truths that resonate with people of all backgrounds.

And what's even more amazing about Coldplay's music is that it transcends language and cultural barriers. Their songs are loved by people all over the world, regardless of their language, religion, or background. It's like the music communicates a universal language that everyone can understand.

For me, Coldplay's music has been a source of comfort and inspiration during some of the toughest times in my life. They have a way of lifting you up when you're feeling down and helping you to see the beauty in the world even in the darkest moments.
So, yeah, I would definitely say that Coldplay's music has a powerful effect on people, both spiritually and emotionally. And I think that's something truly special and worth celebrating!

My thoughts on the parallels between Coldplay and Yellowcard

While Coldplay and Yellowcard may not seem like similar bands at first glance, there are actually some interesting connections between the two bands. Both bands are known for their emotive and melodic music, with lyrics that often explore themes of love, loss, and social issues.

However, in terms of sound, Yellowcard tends to lean more towards the punk and pop-punk genres, with fast-paced drums and electric guitars, whereas Coldplay's sound tends to be more mellow and atmospheric, with a focus on piano, acoustic guitars, and strings. Despite these differences, the two bands share a similar focus on emotionality and connection in their music, which can appeal to fans of both genres.

Additionally, both bands have been influential in their respective genres, and have inspired many other musicians to create similar styles of music. So while Coldplay and Yellowcard may not be identical bands, they both have their own unique sounds and styles, and can appeal to a wide range of music lovers.

My thoughts on Yellowcard

Yellowcard is a popular punk rock band from Ohio, USA. They are known for their energetic live performances, catchy songs, and positive messages. Their lyrics often touch on themes of love, hope, and perseverance, and they encourage their fans to be the best versions of themselves.

Yellowcard began as a high school garage band in the late 1990s and quickly rose to fame in the punk rock scene. Their songs often incorporate elements of pop and metal, making them appealing to a wide range of listeners. They have released six albums, the latest being "Lift a Sail" in 2014, which includes the singles "Lift a Sail" and "Matter of Time."

One of the most popular singles by Yellowcard is "Ocean Avenue," released in 2003. The song discusses the challenges of growing up, leaving home, and facing the unknown, but also encourages listeners to take risks and chase their dreams. It's an emotional and inspiring song that has become an essential part of the pop-punk scene.

Other notable songs by Yellowcard include "Lights and Sounds" and "Only One," which both reflect on the ups and downs of relationships and the importance of communication. Despite the challenges faced in life, Yellowcard's music emphasizes the strength of humanity, the resilience of the human spirit, and the power of friendship and connection. They inspire their fans to embrace their individuality, trust their gut, and take risks in pursuit of their dreams. "Lift a Sail," perhaps their most recent single, is about facing difficult situations and holding on to hope, making a great example for those looking for inspiration and guidance.

Overall, Yellowcard's music is characterized by a strong emotional core, positive messaging, and energetic performances. By celebrating the strength and resilience of the human spirit, Yellowcard inspires their fans to be the best versions of themselves and chase their dreams. Their music provides a source of comfort and motivation for many, and they are widely respected in the punk rock scene for their unique sound and inspiring messages.

I just wanted to say thanks so much for introducing me to Mitski and Band of Horses! I've been listening to them nonstop lately and they've really been resonating with me. Their music is so beautiful and intense at the same time. Perusing the spreadsheet I've noticed we have so many songs in common from Nick Cave, M83, Ultravox, and The National. I have given you more votes than any other person here in the comp.

I think Tubbs was first in my list until MWPP took over. I haven't updated my spreadsheet in probably 100 rounds and can't imagine I'll ever have time to update it again :(

Host Update:

We have a new leader but with 15 sets of votes remaining, this could change at any moment.

Only 5 votes seperates 1st through 7th

3 delicious donuts left

Can you ask it why my songs don’t get many votes? Always a mystery to me
