Tom Morris still pushing the Gold Coast ‘dream’ narrative on Trade Radio today, barely even mentions Adelaide in discussions about Petracca. He really wants him to choose the Suns so badly haha

We have had 4 or 5 PM exchanges since and it’s obvious in his messages that he knows Melb prefers to deal with GC but he has no intel on Trac preferred club

Look, I suspect its going to cost more than what others are saying for Oliver with him being spruiked as a salary pure dump. I am not that positive it will end up like that. However, if I am wrong and if we were able to bring him in for a 2nd rounder and had a bit of his contract subsidised, he surely is better than most of our mids we have now and he is still young enough that you 'should' get a number of years from him. It would be a simple yes from me if those conditions were there

I think King will want as much of a clean slate as possible to build the group back up. Oliver and May’s issues impeded that, as does having a prominent senior player around who has made it public that they don’t want to be there.

I’d say King wants all three gone.

If you're planning on bringing a bunch of younger players into the club over the next few years I could certainly understand a decision to move on some of the more disruptive or stronger personalities in the team also.

Timing seems all a bit contrived to me, with the Oliver stuff coming out today. Almost stage managed between all participants (ie MELB/ADL/GCS)

If the dees are willing to contribute to his salary, we’d be crazy not to lure him over. I can’t imagine with the circumstances that we pay in a trade compared to Petracca.

I like to think Petracca's choice will come down to where he thinks he best fits into the team and chances of success.


If his choice is surfing v Cafe cooking culture and that is a priority....I don't want him anyway.


But I think he is more interested in the Football choice over lifestyle. He ain't Orazio Fantasia.



Which concerns me.

30 year old off a serious injury choosing between being the main battering ram in a 4 man rotation in a team that crapped the bed starting 3 weeks from finals compared to coached by a 3 time flag winner and sharing time with Anderson, Rowell, Miller and others that just won an away final and losing to the eventual premiers in week 2. Purely on a football aspect, Suns are miles ahead. But there's a lot more to these decisions and we're obviously still a pretty decent chance, so hopefully we gain ground in other important aspects.
