I am conflicted here..I don't want Port to lose him to a bottom side where they get multiple top 5 picks. But on the flipside, I don't want him at a contender as it will hurt us trying to win a flag...Ideally he lands at a Carlton where they will never win anything and port will not get the best picks either

I’m on board with all this . Our problem is that we have a coach that doesn’t think aggressively or strategically. With the right coach and development we have the pieces already

Honestly comments like this is rubbish - I get that people don’t like Nicks but please at least make fact base comments

• if Nicks wasn’t strategic thinking, Curtin would just be a defender, the moved to the wing in 2025 was the first step to transition him as a midfielder
• Curtin has been told in his exit meeting, pre-season is all about midfield and stoppages craft - he will move to the midfield
• Rankine, has transitioned to the midfield, this was somewhat impacted by Rachelle injury
• Rachelle will be a centre bounce - then push forward mid,!has been working on his centre bounce and forward 50!stoppage craft

Its true. No matter how you sugar coat it Nicks is not an aggressive coach and telling players '' this could happen next year '' is not strategic . Its player welfare coddling them to put in over pre-season

Strategic is resting players over the season while blooding fresh legs. Strategic is understanding the opposition and reacting to them rather than working harderer for longerer

Nicks is reactive and therefore not aggressive

Defend Nicks and defend our top finish as a sign he has the players on board

This feels like neither Sanders or Butts are pushing their clubs for a trade, which is pouring water over it because neither club wants to be on the asking side of the equation. I think the only way a trade goes down is if one of the 2 players puts a request in the next couple days.

This is all well and good but history suggests Nicks can't be trusted to develop midfielders.

You think he can keep all these promises? Rachele played zero midfield this year despite training there.

To be fair i put the post up of him moving but was clear in saying avoid regardless we are after a ruck

What it tells me is that Sanders is 100% off the Tassie in 2 years and he doesn’t see the point in moving to a new city for 2 years. Without Tassie looming, I could’ve seen this trade happening as it clearly benefits all parties.
