Facts are, the afl does have a DEI policy, she didn't have the experience of previous people in the job and she lasted half a season before getting the boot.Never Met her. I dare say neither have you. But you sure do mouth off about her. I think she’s made fundamental mistakes in her new gig, but no more than the incompetent men in AFL house….
The guy in the top job being a complete muppet doesn't help things either. This does not mean the people they hire are not qualified. It generally means that when both candidates are the same qualifications, they’ll pick the female. People (men) seem to believe women just get these jobs just because they are women. Can’t possibly have gotten them on merit…. If Laura Kane got a job she wasn't qualified for, blame the fellas who hired her. Based on their previous performance at AFL house, id say they were sorely out of their depth in the first place.
Cmon Jenny, just give up.Not to mention all her work at the grass roots with girls and women in footy…,
Isn't that a prerequisite for a senior role at the AFL?Cmon Jenny, just give up.
She had no right to be in the role she was in, totally out of her depth

Think it's fair to say there has not been an exhaustive interview process to find the most suitable candidate.Isn't that a prerequisite for a senior role at the AFL?
The problem is that they DO conduct an exhaustive interview process and identify the most suitable candidate.Think it's fair to say there has not been an exhaustive interview process to find the most suitable candidate.
At least they have finally brought some quality football operators in recently, but we need a new CEO too.
Interesting to see if the new Chair makes a difference. Couldn't be worse than Goyder.
2025 and 2023That's amazing. Making finals is now a whole lot easier. 2/18 = 11% easier in fact. Would have helped us out in the last few years actually.
11- one of Sharp/Cumming/SchubertInteresting. Leaves us with 11 and 16. Do we then try and trade those up, or take 11, 16, 44?
Sumner-Pickett really come in that high?11- one of Sharp/Cumming/Schubert
16- Sumner-Pickett
44 - Cody Curtin
16 will be around 22-23 with Academy and F/SSumner-Pickett really come in that high?
Most mocks have had him 25ish pre academy picks.16 will be around 22-23 with Academy and F/S
Some rumours have Melbourne and Freo looking at him. Most mocks have had him 25ish pre academy picks.
Don't over estimate afl experience...Well she was appointed to the highest executive role of football in the AFL, and her experience amounted to law school then five years of experience at North Melbourne, plus a management role in the AFL for 2 years
The person replacing her had 25 years of CEO experience, and the person prior was a player and coach across 20+ years. So that's probably the bar for the role.
I'd be happy with any of a mixture ofMost mocks have had him 25ish pre academy picks.
I'd be happy with Sharp, SP and Curtin though.
Reckon Marsh would probably be better tho.
No thanks on Phillipou on character grounds aloneI'd be happy with any of a mixture of
Sharp, Schubert, Sumner-Pickett , Philippou
The guy in the top job being a complete muppet doesn't help things either.
Even old Gill was better than him.
He will be gone by 16. I think that’s why we are looking at 11, as neither Cumming or Sharpe will be there thenSumner-Pickett really come in that high?
Pick 11 for a 20 year old small forward with limited exposure to top level football pathways seems a big reach to me.He will be gone by 16. I think that’s why we are looking at 11, as neither Cumming or Sharpe will be there then
If we have pick 11 and use it on Sharp for example, at 16 I'd be way more comfortable.Pick 11 for a 20 year old small forward with limited exposure to top level football pathways seems a big reach to me.
Remember we only received pick 12 for Charlie Cameron who had shown a lot bloody more.
Agreed. He gives me strong Tariek Newchurch vibesI just don't get the Sumner-Pickett as a 1st rounder talk, basically 20 year old being spoken so highly of off one 4 goal SANFL game for Glenelg against Central's who were basically uncompetitive on the day and one decent game in the SANFL U18's vs the U20's trial game? For the most part he played SANFL reserves which these days is about Ammos standard with most of the decent mature age guys not regular League players playing in the country leagues where they can earn some reasonable coin.
He could be AFL standard. Better than Tariek.Agreed. He gives me strong Tariek Newchurch vibes
Went to school with Gillon, not a bad bloke. But first generation inbred in terms of the AFL. Dillon 2nd and that idiot DEI hire is 3rd, she'll kill the game.
