Pretty sure we have front loaded most our contracts over past 2 years whilst we have been bad.

For what it’s worth, was told on Sunday that the club believe NWM is choosing between 8 years from us and 2 years from Saints. No chance of going to Port, they can’t afford him or satisfy Saints now that Bergman has re signed.

Came straight from a current player’s old man who should know. Certainly surprised me, but could well be true as he’s surely worth at least 2 and maybe 3 firsts, and I can’t see how Port would find them.

2 of them are pretty much going anyway. Laird shouldn’t be on much, his contract has lasted through our crap years, should have been heavily front ended.

I don't know if we like the three tall structure for its own sake, or just because we're currently blessed with 3 exceptional talls. I reckon Tex has another year in him, but whenever he retires I think we'd revisit that structure depending on the actual players we have on the list. No point playing a 3 tall forward structure if you only have 2 good talls.

I hope they don’t drink their own bathwater. It’s working because of the quality of the players, not because the system they designed is inherently superior.

Exactly, come play for us and and he gets the best of both worlds. Play finals and challenge for flags for the next 5 years and go and have as much yo-chi as he wants with his port mates.
