yep, no doubt being floated around, Powell is a best 22 player for North, even with their midfield.

Their midfield means nothing if their defence is no good though.
They lose a bit in a stacked midfield, gain a fair bit in defence.
We lose critical backup in defence, gain in midfield

Not really, the fact that they've approached Butts and not Keane or Murray is all that matters. We've got what they want and he's contracted. And we want to retain him too, so they'll need to pay a decent price.

Simpkin is garbage. If we wanted a whipping boy to instantly replace Murphy, then he’s your guy. If we gave up Butts for Simpkin, I’d be filthy. He’s a stat padder that has zero impact, and as someone else already mentioned, is on a massively inflated contract. Add to that he’s their skipper and contracted, what sort of leadership is that to be exploring trades because you want more midfield time. Utter spud.

He is a risk. Im not convinced on his mindset. If we get him and he helps win us a premiership next year, sure who cares if he fades quickly after that..right? but what if we dont win and he fades anyway.

Its just a presumption he fades but I dont know. Something just feels off about him.
