Wasted Darren Burgess on Matthew Nicks.

Quick, someone mock up a picture Brett Burgess in a fake moustache so the club knows what to look out for when they start interviews.

Those Birdmen are crafty

I don’t think it helps at all. My guess is Tracy’s recent link to GC would coincide with the burgo news. Would lean toward that — or staying at Melbs — now
They've been linking GC to Petracca as long as us though. Tom Morris first mentioned Adelaide, GC and Sydney.

IF Petracca was looking at Adelaide, he surely already had a chat with Burgess and was told about Juventus. Anyway, wouldn't he be closer with ANB, someone actually his age and played nearly a decade with?

Personally in this day and age, there are players who crave anonymity, and there are players who crave stardom.

The players who dont want the stardom are attracted to Non football markets like the GC. 30k members, 17k home attendances, big pay, nice weather, no-one knows who you are, the AFL media ignores you most of the time. Its a great life for those types of people.

I dont believe Trac wants that life in the slightest. He wants the bright lights, the big crowds, the prime time slots, the media exposure, the stardom, the fans and endorsements.

Thats why I dont think he actually wants to leave Victoria, but it he did, the AFC would be a more feasible option than the GC.

No one in the AFL industry saw this coming?

Just goes to show the media really have no idea, and most of their "news" is just made up BS to feed the masses.

There was hawthorn poster that said he was gone a few days ago.

Pretty funny seeing Ralph run an ‘exclusive’ after Juventus already announced his appointment

So tell me how many big time players want to swap clubs AND take a pay cut to do it?

He’s contracted at a crap club, of course Cats can’t fit him in on his existing salary. Why wouldn’t you want to go to Geelong. But you’re rehashing the same garbage, explain player by player how Cats have a more expensive list than Lions or Suns. Who are both adding high end talent over the off season and Suns in the frame for Curnow too.

But, again, do you genuinely reckon Cats list is more expensive than Lions and Suns. And if so, by about how much?

You can’t make this stuff up. But he was at cafe Paparazzi in Malvern/Unley yesterday, quite early in the morning. Perhaps both are true.
Just bumping this for people that may have missed it (regarding Petracca in Adelaide last Friday). Given that we already had the replacement for Burgess lined up (and is someone Burgess obviously played a part in hiring), I can’t imagine Petracca wouldn’t have known about this if he was seriously considering a move here?

If we created a rumour only thread that only Mods could post in and you could PM a mod with a rumour to post and then be credited for it or remain anonymous of it's a juicy one.

Would people appreciate that?

Is that something this board would like??

My experience with PMing mods isn’t particularly great.

No list is anymore expensive than any other ON THE BOOKS - every club has the same salary cap. So I'll ask again, how is it that Geelong are the one club that somehow manages to get star players to commit to them and take less money. But hey, its only been the topic of discussion across all the clubs supporter bases for a long time now how Geelong do what they do to get players...I am not reinventing this wheel, its been rolling a very long time.
