Good to hear that said again though! Still think it’s not the worse to trade out next years 1st to move up and get a gun mid!!
Then start adding FAs next year look for a flag in 3-4 years.

Just to add - I fully expected that too, for context it was a very friendly/jovial chat and I certainly wasn't being an 'annoying fan nuffy' etc...

I said in jest "I heard Petracca likes Adelaide's food and wine culture" - he just laughed.

I was a little more direct towards end of convo and said "Surely we should get Ah Chee?" he said "haha ok we'll give you that, we will try to get Ah Chee". Again very polite/friendly chat.

I was lucky enough to be in the Actual AFL marquee in the September club. Triple M, NAB, Toyota and Sportsbet were the main other ones.

There were some serious heavy hitters in there.... TV celebs, politicians, CEO's, footy greats.
With that many shots in your shots it's a wonder your here.

Well well well.... That was a fun day...

I'll cut straight to it.... Spoke to Silvers for about 10 mins last night and lets just say i'm not overly confident we are getting much this offseason (player wise) :embarrassedv1:

Couple of other little snippets:
-Asked "what the F happened in finals?" - conceded 'nothing happened' laughing in jest.
-Was looking at Courts/Legal avenues for Izak but felt would have been way too much of a circus/distraction if kept dragging out
-knows our midfield not good enough to compete with best
-Pete Malinauskas actually a nice guy :$
-Matt Rowelll a great young man

Love the variety of drinks. 🍸

I guess the good news is that McAndrew can dispose of the ball like someone that has played the sport before, and he looks decent in taps

He's 210cm though and doesn't seem to make use of that in the air
Centre circle rule change next year will make McAndrew even more effective at centre contests. They’ll also take away ROB’s main centre ruck tactic

Did you at least try and ply him with strong drinks? If you didn’t, I gotta ask were you even trying to get information ;) We all know loose lips sinks ships and nothing get looser lips than an afternoon on the grog.

Tim Silvers ' woah big fella love the drinks but you have to buy me dinner first '

'' haha nah just want to show my appreciation for all the work you do ''

' you sweet sweet adorable good looking man '

'' so we getting trac ''

McAndrew is a delisted slug that we only got interested in due to Strachan having a long term injury. He’s not a player that will improve us, he’s like Burgess, largely useless.

We don't really know given we haven't played him at AFL level.

He matched ROB in preseason games.

We need to give him a decent go in 2026 to see if he can be AFL standard.

The issue is, now we have given ROB 3 years we are stuck with him, they’ll need to it work so ROB will have to be on one leg before he’s dropped.

Now if only we had a young developing ruck on our list who was ready to take over now, we would haven’t tied ourselves to this unco.

Yep sound list management strategy.

He was delisted and free but ignored by every other club in the league. Odds on him being a finals quality footballer is slim to none.

We certainly need to give him a go, but matching Rob is a low bar.

What have we got to lose by giving him acrack if we arenot recruiting another ruck? At least we will know for sure one way or the other

Don’t get me wrong, I’d drop ROB in a heartbeat off one of his typical games. And I’ve no problem playing McAndrew, but reality is that he’s unlikely to be an AFL quality ruckman. If not for Strachan’s injury, he’d have played out the year at Norwood.

Haven't you watched McAndrew's SANFL games ......surely, if you have, the judgement is pretty straight forward

Playing him in an AFL game will only highlight those deficiencies .....no core strength, and pushed off the line way too easily .....he's fine as a "break glass" player

I look at Darcy Fort who was a squad player at Geelong and got traded for a bag of chips to Brisbane and is now a dual premiership player and was very servicable. It would be great if McAndrew could be that for us. In his corner was that he was far and away the most dominant ruck at SANFL level this year. I just worry what we are going to get with a ROB under contract...eeekk

And thats ROB under Van Berlo midfield guidance which highlights his problems

Seen Eljah Hollands named quite a few times here, he's bad news, moved on from GC for nose beers, now Blues's are doing the same thing but with a year on his contract

He can't be fixed, decent player but too many red flags 🚩

Hopefully Tracca or Oliver dirt cheap this offseason + Ah Chee (doesn't feel like there's a lot of moves that can be made this year)

Then go real hard for Bailey next year in his FA year and land him for salary only

Forward/Ruck Henry Smith should be a target now Sam Draper is Brisbane bound, contracted for 2026 but shouldn't cost a lot in collateral...if Tex retires even moreso.

ROB’s biggest deficiency is his inability to hit it to our midfielders at stoppages, the only time it seems to look natural is when Rankine reads it off him in the F50.
Give me a ruckman whose one wood is tapping it to his players over whatever ROBs offering us these days.

SA born as well, should be top of the list. OOC next year as well if I remember correctly?
